It’s hard to believe that today over 663 million people in the world still don’t have clean, safe water and over 2.4 billion live without adequate toilet. The resulting diseases kill one child every 2 minutes.

WaterAid Liberia is looking for an Human Resource and Administration Officer to support in day-to-day Human Resource, administrative and logistics operations and implementation of WaterAid’s stipulated policies and procedures within the Country Programme.

Key responsibilities include:

Human Resources:

  • Support in recruitments e.g. invitations, logistic support to candidates, organizing venues for written and oral interviews.
  • Coordinate the onboarding of newly recruited staff, including pre-employment medical clearance, reference checks, induction into the organisation, , and other HR processes. in
  • Coordinate and process all insurance policies, including renewals (Medical, Life Insurance, Workmen Compensation and International Travel insurance policies) for CP staff
  • Provide support in coordinating annual staff retreats, team away days and other meetings
  • Support the implementing the Health & Safety Policy, monitoring adherence to the Local Safety Protocols, whiles ensuring availability of safety devices in all offices and work stations and ensure that the Health and Safety needs are brought to the attention of the HPOD
  • Timely maintenance and update of the HR Information System and office filing systems for all HR & Admin activities, including compilation and filing of confidential staff records.

Admin & Logistics:

  • Work with procurement committee to oversee purchases and the development of contracts with suppliers and service providers
  • Identify vendors for sourcing office supplies
  • Manage all inventory and maintain accurate records of purchases
  • Assist in preparation of Administration/Logistics budget for each year
  • Supervise and make travel and other arrangements for staff, overseas visitors and other partners, including hotel reservation, flight reservation and ticket purchase and other immigration requirements.
  • Plan, organise and manage all office events, including conferences, seminars, high level meetings
  • Work with team to plan use of vehicles for field trips and advise on timelines, and other travel requirements
  • Responsible for maintenance and the safety of vehicles off office premises

To be successful, you will need to have:

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or any of the Humanities
  • Minimum of three years’ work experience in the INGO sector in HR and Procurement functions.
  • Working experience: Administrative and office management and systems such MS Office Suite
