PSI seeks a Human Resources Assistant to join our team for the USAID-funded Countywide Sanitation Activity. The project aims to achieve universal coverage of basic sanitation in five counties of Liberia. This ambitious project seeks equally ambitious staff who bring creativity, energy, and an entrepreneurial spirit to their work. The Human Resources Assistant will provide support to the HR Manager in the implementation of PSI’s HR Policies, Procedures, Guidelines, and Tools management.

Your contributions

HR Planning:

Support with annual planning of an HR strategy for PSI/Liberia which is in line with the organizational goals and objectives.

Hiring and Recruitment:

  • Assist the full-cycle recruitment process at all levels to hire the best talent.
  • Assist the recruitment and selection process according to PSI policies and procedures.
  • Assist recruitments and orientations/transition of both new/ transferring staff.
  • Assist with the drafting of job descriptions in line with the approved job vacancy.
  • Work with the procurement team for vacancy postings in internal and external media as appropriate.

HR Compliance:

  • Ensure PSI Liberia complies with all legal requirements of the government of Liberia and other HR-related duties.
  • Assist in ensuring PSI complies with all labor laws and minimization of legal exposure.
  • Support with the printing and distribution of the National Staff Handbooks ensuring all staff has copy.
  • Assist with, filing, and update of all staff personnel and statutory documents and ensure that all staff information is properly kept, updated, and confidentially maintained.

Performance Management

  • Support the HR Manager in following up with staff on the completion of the performance management process.

Administrative Functions:

  • Support other staff as and when needed which may include photocopying and faxing, scanning, sorting, and organizing documents and materials during training & and conferences.
  • Assist in bulk invoice sorting and compiling, and Finance and procurement paperwork filing as may be requested.
  • Responsible for sorting and distributing mail (DHL, post / internal documents) to staff at respective workstations.
  • Assist with office errands and ensure follow-up with the Department of Immigration on canceled work permits as well as the processing of new work permits for the international staff.

What are we looking for?

  • Diploma in Secretarial Studies or Business Administration or equivalent preferred.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in office administration or entry-level for graduates.
  • Strong Customer service skills

  • Citizen of Liberia
