JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Human Resources Associate

CLASSIFICATION: TBD

REPORT TO: HR Manager

DEPARTMENT: Administration

Job Overview

As the Human Resources Associate, you will be responsible for the delivery of a full range of human resource services as part of our HR team. You will support the HR Manager with HR processes including (but not limited to) end to end recruitment, employee changes, employee entitlements, obtaining and recording HR information, managing the HR database, and other HR- related issues.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership for subordinate HR team members and ensure that Department’s objectives are achieved.
  • Assist in the recruitment of candidates for employment, including preparing candidates’ profiles and supervising employment tests, etc.
  • Ensure HR information systems are accurate, effective and efficient.
  • Ensure processes are in place to maintain confidentiality of personnel records services as required.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of HR policies, Labour Law of Liberia and processes.
  • Ensure that all new employees issue a job description and have a full induction, and explaining employee benefits.
  • Communicating with potential job candidates for hiring purposes.
  • Managing HR records including, HR database, software and HR forms.
  • Issuing employment contracts, verifying completion and updating expiry contracts
  • Compile monthly statistic concerning personnel hires, transfers, promotions, training, vacation, absenteeism, tardiness, suspensions, warning, and turnover.
  • Foster and promote employee/union-management relations, handle grievances and settle disputes, serve on the grievance committee as mandated by the HR Manager.

 

  • Prepare all relevant administrative, human resources, and labour statistics reports.
  • Handle employee’s social security and coordinate this activity with the Finance Department.
  • Accountable for ensuring that all work is carried out to a high standard and within the required deadlines.
  • Perform related work as required.

HR Associate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience working in human resources department.
  • Knowledge of HR database. HR software, email systems, and use of office equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Well organized, efficient, and approachable.
  • Good knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Power point.
