PREVAIL, or the Partnership for Research on Vaccines and Infectious Diseases in Liberia, is a clinical research partnership between the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Liberian Ministry of Health

Summary of Position:

This position will serve as a Human Resource Associate providing employee and management staff support in several Human Resources functional areas which may include recruitment, employee relations, benefits oversight, performance management, timesheet administration, payroll preparation. Serves as the initial point of contact for employees, ensuring accurate and efficient responses. Participates in Human Resources projects and company initiatives as required. Processes human resources activities such as new employee onboarding, changes-of-status, performance evaluations, leave of absence, terminations, etc. Conducts new employee orientations and may facilitate employee exit interviews. Coordinates HR presentations and meetings when needed.

Essential functions include, but not limited to, the following:

Description of Responsibilities:

Serves as an experienced resource in multiple areas including but not limited: to onboarding, compensation, benefits, recruiting, payroll, and training.

Proactively promotes positive internal customer relationships and collaborates across HR to ensure teamwork.

Creates and streamlines reports and processes.

Prepares required reports such as recruitment, leave, and headcount reports. Conducts new employee orientation and may assist with separation process/exit interviews. Works collaboratively with local HR team and global HR team, assisting with projects and company programs.

Develops and implements procedures, including communication plans, new employee orientation, and training programs.

Ensures prompt response and resolution to employee and management needs. Works to support visitors and guests, providing assistance as needed.

Identifies frequently asked questions and provides recommendations for how information should be communicated to staff.

Identifies and solves holistic business problems through broad and up-to-date knowledge of employment law, organizational behavior, change management, best practices, and company policy.

Trains staff and management on the use of HR communication and analytical tools. Manages continuous improvement initiatives and always looking for ways to streamline or improve user experience.

May investigate and resolve routine employee relations issues.

Serves as a backup to Manager and HR team members

Other duties as assigned

Skills:

Ability to handle oral and written communications independently.

Able to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of staff, individuals from diverse cultures, and the public.

Demonstrates ability to assume sole and independent responsibility for various assigned projects.

Works on assignments that are typical for an HR administrative office setting. May work on special and ad-hoc projects, if needed.

Has ability to recognize and suggest improvement for situations that deviate from accepted practice; seeks managerial advice prior to taking action.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field or a combination of HR certification and years of working experience.

Preferred Job-related Experience: Five (5) to (7) years of experience providing full range of HR administrative support in an office setting.

Additional requirements: Effectively communicates in English, both verbally and in writing. Advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) and proficient in timekeeping and Payroll systems.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO) helpful.

Being a member of the Liberia Human Resource Association (ALHRP) is an added advantage.
