POSITION: ICT Technician

Report to : ICT Supervisor

Role Summary/Purpose

The primary responsibility ICT Technician is to provide timely and effective technical support to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of IT systems. You have to resolve technical issues quickly, minimize downtime, and enhance user satisfaction.

Main activities

Technical activities:

  • Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
  • Check computer hardware (HDD, mouse, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality
  • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
  • Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging, etc.)
  • Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
  • Identify computer or network equipment shortages and report to your supervisor/Manager

Administrative and organization activities:

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the monitoring of his tasks. And generate reports accordingly.
  • Write and update all deliverables related to his activities
  • Participate in the various technical meetings and review.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate best practices into the helpdesk procedures
  • Customer Service: ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by maintaining clear communication and providing timely updates on issue resolution.
  • Perform or ensure the training of the users.

Education Qualifications Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or AA in computer science or relevant technology field
  • Any relevant IT certificate from a recognized professional body will be an added advantage
  • One to three (1-3) three years working experience in related area.

Job Specific Competencies

  • In-depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
  • Ability to use Microsoft office suites is an added advantage
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Customer Service Orientation: A focus on delivering high-quality service and maintaining customer satisfaction
