SOS Children’s Villages International is a Global Organisation established in 1949 to promote and protect the
interests and rights of orphaned and vulnerable children and strengthen families. SOS Children’s Villages
International works through member associations in over 136 countries worldwide.
SOS Children’s Villages Liberia is a member Association of SOS Children’s Villages International, an
international non-governmental development organisation that has been active in the field of children’s rights
and committed to children’s need and concerns since 1981. We focus our work on children without parental
care and children at risk of losing parental care and their communities. The organisation has a wide range of
programmes in Monrovia and Juah Town which include children’s two villages, a youth facility, two
kindergartens and two high schools, a renowned medical center and two family strengthening programmes in
Monrovia.
SOS Children’s Villages Liberia, a social welfare & development organisation focusing on Family Based care
and Family Strengthening Program to support orphaned and vulnerable children and families; has vacancies
for the post of “Institutional Partnership Development-‘IPD’ Coordinator, SOS Children’s Villages Liberia
Locations: SOS National Office, Old Matadi, Sinkor, Monrovia Liberia
Basic Requirement Education & Work Experience)
• BA/BSc. Or post graduate degree in Management, Business Administration, Humanities or its’ equivalent in
the relevant field of practice.
• Must have at least 3-5 years’ experience in program development, proposal & report writing skills & research
initiatives, Fund raising coordination related Field of study or Practice.
• Proven record & experience and /or knowledge in working with vulnerable children /families in communities;
Promoting Child protection is a paramount concern!
• Fluent written and verbal aptitude in English Language; (contemporary report writing skills is a PLUS)
• Exceptional leadership, counselling, communication and listening skills
• Good ICT/computer tools & demonstrable skills for organizational communication, reporting, managing
information and delivering needed services on a timely manner.

Mission:
Position summary
The Institutional Partnership Coordinator works closely with National Associations to develop and support
institutional donor cooperation (grants and partnerships with multilateral and bi-lateral aid agencies,
governments, foundations), provides necessary support in the implementation of operations financed by
institutional donors as well as of relevant policies and in developing capacities.
He/she ensures that the internal flow of information from the national associations to SOS-Kinderdorf
International’s General Secretariat (GSC) and if needed to Promoting/Supporting Associations is relevant, timely
and of good quality; and that communication from the GSC is efficiently utilized in the national associations.
He/she must pro-actively seek to raise awareness about the work of the organisation; attract and retain new
public/institutional donors, and protect the brand and image of SOS Children’s Villages.

LIBERIA INSTITUTIONAL PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT:
General aim:
Guide and support NAs in retaining and expanding existing, and exploring and building new partnerships with
donor agencies and institutions (governmental and non-governmental) in countries across the region in order to
significantly diversify and augment the institutional funding resources available to support the organisation’s
programmes.

Key performance areas and main responsibilities:
 Work with international, continental & national counterparts to develop and implement a comprehensive
institutional funding plan for the region, including identifying, cultivating and soliciting institutional funding
support in line with the continental and international IPD strategy.
 Identify funding opportunities within the region, install and maintain a market monitoring mechanism aligned
with and complementary to continental processes.
 Work together with NAs in initiating contacts and forging partnerships with institutional donors, representing
the organisation’s aims and objectives.
 Support NAs in preparing high level funding proposals that meet donor requirements and support them in
implementing agreed plans.
 Provide technical and coordination support to individual application/ funding processes according to needs.
 Monitor and assess the quality of donor reporting by NAs making sure that donor requirements are met also
during the project implementation phase.
 Where appropriate and relevant develop and maintain good relationships with donors at regional level through
ensuring regular communication, knowledge exchange and effective reporting.
 Provide the IOR with relevant information for the continental as well as global IPD strategy and plans.
 Develop the capacity of local staff, including in drafting proposals, Project Cycle Management and Logical
Framework Approach (LFA) and other relevant tools of the IPD Practical Guide
