The position IT Assistant will monitor and maintain the computer systems and networks of Last Mile Health. The IT Assistant is responsible for the installation and configuration of computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults, and solve technical and application problems, either over the phone or in person. The IT Assistant will be assigned to LMH’s field sites on IT matters in the counties. Should be able to manage and implement IT function as per IT Policies and Procedures and ensure that all users are IT-enabled. This position is the official back-up to the IT Manager in the county.

What You’ll Do

  • Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications.
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.
  • Talk staff through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up systems or resolve issues.
  • Troubleshoot the system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
  • Work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate).
  • Digitize and verify records for the operations department.
  • Train staff on how to access digitized records.
  • Assist with filing of paper records and reports.
  • Work closely with the IT Manager to identify and complete other tasks related to the maintenance of clear and accessible digital records in the county.
  • Support other office staff in formatting documents, printing, scanning, setting up A/V equipment for meetings, etc.
  • Verify equipment is in good condition when returned.
  • Support and conduct formal and informal IT training for staff with varying degrees of technical proficiency, both one on one and in a group setting. Training will be conducted on software applications.
  • Mainly based on Windows and Mac Platform, appropriate use of IT in the workplace, Microsoft Office Suite, and other approved applications for organizational use.
  • With the supervision of the ITM, manages hardware and software on-site, identifies and solves technical problems, including, but not limited to, hardware, software, and internet connectivity issues. Designate IT equipment to staff on-site as they are receiving from head office.

What You’ll Bring

  • Associated degree in Information technology or its equivalent.
  • A professional certificate is also an added advantage.
  • 2 Years’ experience in related areas.

  • You are a good typist.
