Job overview/purpose:

Youth Crime Watch of Liberia has received funding from UNICEF Liberia to implement Adolescent empowerment interventions in Bong and Margibi Counties under the project Strengthening the community-based child protection mechanism/system to improve children’s care and Protection from violence, abuse and exploitation in Margibi and Bong Counties. The project runs until 31 December 2021. The project seeks at preventing violence against children as well as reducing the negative impact of poverty, harmful traditional practices and Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV).
It will ensure the provision of a minimum package of prevention and response interventions to children, mainly, adolescents at risk, their families and other community members through community-based child protection mechanisms (including adolescent resource center/adolescent safe spaces) in Margibi County (Unification Town, Dolo’s Town, Kakata, and Charlesville Township) Bong County (Gbarnga, and Sanoyea). Mainstreaming interventions on the provision of life-saving information to reduce the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on health socio-economic wellbeing at family and community levels. The project will facilitate platforms and spaces wherein adolescents/youth will be taught personal responsibility with regard to their health and social development, inspiring them to become agents of change for their communities. YCWL invites qualified individuals to apply for the position of Job Placement Officers.

I. Overall objectives of the position
The overall objectives of the Job Placement Officer are to serve as a liaison between Youth Crime Watch of Liberia and selected partner institutions to for the placement of project beneficiaries at selected institutions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. To supervise beneficiaries participating in the TVET training program and placement
activities in Project locations;
2. To write and produce presentations for potential partner institutions to accept project
beneficiaries for placement;
3. To liaise with partner institutions for the placement of project beneficiaries (interns); and
follow up with them on a regular basis and provide assistance when needed.
4. Provide beneficiaries with one-on-one career counseling using specially developed
questions and personal assessment skills to identify existing skills and future ambitions.
5. Create a database of potential employers
6. To Frequently get in touch with partner institution to understand their requirements for
project beneficiaries (interns);
7. To Provide frequent reports to the Project manager on accomplishments of beneficiaries.
8. To organize promotional events such as Career fairs among project beneficiaries.
9. Compile and submit weekly field report;
10. Assist with other related activities as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications:
 Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Sociology or related field;
 Familiarity with the region (candidates from the respective county/ies are given more
priority for this job)
