POSITION: Laboratory Admin/Data Officer
OPEN TO: Liberian with data entry in a health care setting required.

LOCATION: Based at UNC site at Phebe Hospital compound
WORK HOURS: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.
DURATION: 3 months contract renewable based on projects and fundings
SALARY: 450 USD per month with private health insurance.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:
The University of North Carolina (UNC) with its partners in Liberia are collaborating to conduct multiple studies. The studies focus but is not limited on Viral Hemorrhagic Fevers, like Lassa fever and Ebola. These studies examine the incidence, prevalence, and clinical features of various fever-causing pathogens and clinical disease.
The Laboratory Administrator / Data Officer will be responsible for general administrative duties as well as the careful transcription of paper-based data collection forms into the electronic data collection system. The Laboratory Administrator/Data Officer will also be expected to assist with data review and query resolution. These activities will be performed in accordance with protocol procedures, Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP), and other relevant guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Administrative:
• Answer telephone and assist team with project requests/queries.
• Maintain organized scanning/filing system for paperwork.
• Manage laboratory email inbox and calendar schedule.
• Support Inventory officer with stock control and management.
• Any other administrative tasks to support the team.
Data:
• Data verification: Review of paper-based data collection forms to ensure accuracy upon reception and communication with clinical staff who completed the form for needed clarifications
• Data entry: Transferring data from paper-based data collection forms to the electronic data collection system.
• Quality assurance: Completing regular spot checks of electronic data to ensure accuracy.
• Any other data-related tasks needed to support the team.
