JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Laboratory Assistant/Microbiologist
CLASSIFICATION: A 2
REPORT TO: Quality Assurance Manager
DEPARTMENT: Brewhouse

RESPONSIBILITY:

• Ensure safety guidelines are followed at all times and maintain a clean and order working environment.
• Conduct microbial determinations; filter samples according to standard micro procedures, make Observations, inferences and interpret findings.
• Support laboratory staff by performing chemical technical analysis (CTA)
• Calibration of all Lab equipment and support lab staff to maintain accurate inventory monthly.
• Enhance laboratory and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different request and exploring opportunity to add value to job accomplishment.
• Maintaining MBI swimming pool, cleaning and conducting Microbial checks on the pool.
• Will be required to carry out all other duties assigned by his supervisor when necessary.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Excellent physical condition and endurance.
• Ability to work autonomously and under pressure.
• University Degree in Biology or Microbiology.
• Proven experience as Lab Technician or relevant position
• Experience in operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment including potentially dangerous substances (Flammable liquids, bacteria, bio-hazards, etc.)

• Computer literate in Microsoft Excel and Words
• Good communication skills and character.
• Very good knowledge of the usage of Microscopes and microbial determinations.
• Knowledge of HACCP is an advantage.
• At least 3 years of working experience in supplementary laboratory works.
