The Cavalla Rubber Corporation (CRC), is involved with the production and processing of
Rubber operating in Maryland County – Liberia, requires the professional services of the
following:
Position: Medical and Clinical Laboratory Technician
(Ref #: -MED / CRC – 001-0003)
Number Needed: One (1)
Duty Station: CRC Plantation, Maryland County
Duration: Indefinite
Application Date: October 17, 2020
Application Deadline: November 10, 2020
Duration: Three (3) Weeks
Purpose: To give general Technical support for the smooth operations of the Medical Laboratory for
the implementations & achievement of its goals.
In accordance with the above, the professional Laboratory Technician shall assume the following;
Performs routine Medical Laboratory tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases.
He/she will work under the direct supervision of the Medical Doctor In –Charge.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The day to day duties, tasks, and responsibilities of the Lab Technician are stated below:
Conduct chemical analyses of body fluids, such as blood and urine, using microscope or
automatic analyzer to detect abnormalities or diseases, and enter findings into
computer.
Set up, adjust, maintain and clean medical laboratory equipment
Analyze the results of tests and experiments to ensure conformity to specifications,
using special mechanical and electrical devices.
Analyze and record test data to issue reports that use charts, graphs and narratives.
Perform medical research to further control and cure disease.
Obtain specimens, cultivating, isolating and identifying microorganisms for analysis.
Examine cells stained with dye to locate abnormalities.
Collect blood or tissue samples from patients, observing principles of asepsis to obtain
blood sample.
Consult with MD to determine the final diagnosis when abnormal cells are found.
Inoculate fertilized eggs, broths, or other bacteriological media with organisms.
Cut, stain and mount tissue samples for examination.
Supervise and instruct other technicians and laboratory assistants.
Prepare standard volumetric solutions and reagents to be combined with samples,
following standardized formulas or experimental procedures.
Prepare vaccines and serums by standard laboratory methods, testing for virus
inactivity and sterility.
Qualifications / Requirements:
BSc, in Medical Laboratory Science, or Diploma in Laboratory Science in Medical
Laboratory Science from any recognized institution and an updated Registered License is
required.
High fluency in written and spoken English.
Must have at least 3 years of related work experience.
Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be willing to learn and accept corrections to suit standards (as they are momentarily
upgraded for better working conditions).
Willingness & ability to work during late or early hours.
Must be able to Multi-Task
