Save The Children International is establishing a pool of pre-selected candidates for the positions of Lead Management Information System Specialist in one of the country offices within West and Central Africa.

Should we secure the project, this will turn into an official recruitment. Selected candidates will be added to the recruitment process.

GRADE: 2

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young peopleeitherfrequently (e.g. once a week or more)orintensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Lead Management Information System (MIS) Specialist has overall responsibility for implementation of the MIS activities the upcoming Liberia Women Empowerment Project, including monitoring and ensuring program quality in line with child protection and prevention of sexual gender-based violence (SGBV) guiding principles, best practices, and minimum standards. S/he will be accountable for the field supervision, design, planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluation of the program.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Staff reporting to this post: Field coordinators/officers

Budget Responsibilities:

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Lead in the management of the project MIS to ensure a proper flow of information to and from the community, country and national-level, and the provision of timely and adequate information for decision-making at the national level
  • Review monthly sub-project monitoring reports and supervise data entry into the project MIS system at the county level, including checking the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data and report submissions
  • Carry out frequent monitoring visits to sub-projects under implementation at the national level
  • Identify and alert management to any emerging project implementation issues
  • Provide any technical training to staff or partners as needed and appropriate
  • Contribute to management progress reports as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social science, economics, public policy, political science, information technology or a related field

Experience and Skills

  • At least 15 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation and MIS in community development projects, or relevant MIS experience
  • Demonstrated excellent data management and analysis skills and experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in the application of MIS tools
  • Knowledge of MIS computing, as well as MS Office and Internet.
