Job Purpose:

 

Under the direct Supervision and the guidance of the Admin & Finance Manager, the Logistics Assistant will be in charge of providing support to the various departments for the management of the logistics activities related to Fleet, Warehouse, Procurement and General Logistics and he /she will perform as necessary miscellaneous job-related duties. He / she will also be in charge of driving the LNRCS team and the materials and equipment for the programs activities when required by the Logistics Coordinator.

Lateral Relationships

 

Build effective working relationships with other departments, chapters and branches and ensure the flow of relevant information in both directions to ensure the views of communities’ influences key decisions.

 

Qualification and Experience:

Education· University degree or Diploma in Logistics/Management/Supplies

· Professional qualification in Administration and Logistics

· Must have a valid driving license, Valid ECOWAS passport driving license, First Aid certificate/knowledge

Experience· 02 years of working in similar position,

· Good driving experience in remote areas of Liberia and knowledge of Liberia road network,

· Experience in working with a wide range of individuals irrespective of culture and socio-economic status.

· Working experience in Humanitarian environment. RC/RC Experience.

Knowledge and Skills· Good Knowledge of Logistics Standards (Purchasing, Storage, Stocks, Rehabilitation, Inventories…)

· Good knowledge and Familiar with the Liberia’s traffic rules and regulations including safety signs, etc

· Good Knowledge in Mechanics (Able to hear and understand unusual vehicle sounds, horns, sirens and other ordinary traffic sounds and warnings)

· Ability to solve practical problems and react quickly and calmly to changing or emergency circumstances

· Ability to work in compliance with established Logistics policies and procedures

· Ability to read and understand rules, operating and maintenance manuals, company procedures and customary travel documents

· Ability to drive whenever required for work purposes

· Ability to produce a report

· Good interpersonal and communication ability

· Discretion and Loyalty, Integrity and good personal conduct

Language:– Very good command of English

 

 

DUTIES Applicable to all:

 

  1. Work towards the achievement of the National Society’s mandate in the country through effective managerial and lateral relationships and teamwork.

 

  1. Ensure understanding of roles, responsibilities, lateral relationships and accountabilities.

 

  1. Perform other work-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the line manager or the Secretary

Job duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assets Management and Inventory
  • Track the assets in LNRCS’s office and on the field.
  • Manage the movement of LNRCS assets from one place to another within the Country
  • Produce a monthly inventory report

 

  1. Procurements
  • Provide assistance for the management of the sourcing, procurement and delivery of national and international goods and services as appropriate in a timely and cost effective manner and in the respect of the LNRCS procurement process.
  • Obtain quotations, prepare comparative bid analysis and purchase recommendations, purchase appropriate supplies and organize delivery.
  • Identify and maintain accurate suppliers’ information for regularly-purchased items: keep informed of local market conditions and establish and maintain good working relations with suppliers and inspection companies.

  1. Transportation Management
  • Receive request of movement from the LNRCS team and provide good and timely transportation services to the staff.
  • Prepare and manage the daily transportation of the LNRCS and arrange all airport and field movement (pickup and drop up) at arrival or departure (in and out of the Country) for all LNRCS’s staff and Partners.

 

  1. Purchase of Office supplies
  • Provide assistance to the various departments in purchasing goods and services
  • Maintaining a Goods stock report

 

  1. Driver
  • Drive assigned vehicles according to LNRCS rules and regulations
  • Regularly inspect the vehicle prior to taking it away ensuring it conforms to standard road safety measures.
  • Provide transportation of personnel (the LNRCS Team, PNS and staffs), equipment, the couriers and cargo to various destinations, safely and as instructed.
  • Help deliver communications and take on errands as they may arise
  • Ensure that all occupants (including the Driver himself) of the vehicles wear safety seat belts at all times and Driver do not proceed with vehicle until all occupants wears seat belt as strict restriction.
  • Ensure unauthorized riders do not ride and/or drive assigned vehicles
  • Ensure regular maintenance of assigned vehicles
  • Maintains assigned vehicles in clean, polished, flawless operating condition.
  • Visually inspects and manually tests vehicle pre-departure and before accepting passengers.
  • Maintains and operates communications devices, emergency response and contingency equipment, including fire extinguisher, flares or reflectors, etc.
  • Read and understand specific vehicle operating manual
  • Understand and Obey to all traffic laws and driving rules as set by the LNRCS
  • Maintain vehicle log up to date and with all the information required
  • Keep an inventory of the tools and accessories of the vehicles
  • Provide assistance to the operations with field missions when needed

  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
