MISSION/CORE PURPOSE
Responsible for managing planning, analysis, coordination and consolidation of budgets/forecasts, loading, reporting and making recommendations to enhance financial reporting support to all assigned functions.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Tasks:

· Provide financial guidance to departments during the business planning process.

· Review and update relevant policies and guidelines in line with business plan.

· Collaborate and coordinate with departmental representatives to ensure all relevant inputs are captured for the business plan and forecast timely and accurately.

· Manage the effective analysis of relevant input into yearly budgets and periodic forecast.

· Validate approved budget/forecast numbers maintained in planning systems

· Manage the Operational reviews and finalise monthly/quarterly presentations Exco/Group Exco/Board by coordinating with other stakeholder departments.

· Drive cost optimisation initiatives by collaborating with Opco cost centres.

· Prepare and load the business plan inputs into Group planning tool ensuring alignment with presentation.

· Close interaction with the business during business planning, forecasting and monthly reporting and extracting financial and non-financial information.

· Manage internal planning tool used for business plans and forecasts

· Understanding the key profit and cost drivers in the business, ensuring that risks are highlighted and mitigated in an efficient manner.

· Prepare adhoc requests on new business initiatives and plans.

Supervisory / Leadership / Managerial Tasks:

• Set goals and objectives for direct reports, monitor progress and maintain motivation

• Manage performance of team.

• Identify staff training and development needs and implement necessary actions

• Input into hiring talent.

Governance

Adhoc and Operational Meetings

· Set up / participate in adhoc and operational meetings

· Report at process and functional level

Escalations

· Manage and resolve escalations that have impact on critical path of service delivery

· Escalate issues that will result in significant time, scope, employee/client or cost impact if not resolved

· Manage and provide solutions to issues that require formal resolution

Opco Operational

· Set up and manage project status meetings

· Review and identify key risks, issues and dependencies and set mitigation actions
Manage budgets

· Sign-off / make decisions regarding operational changes

Performance

· Excellent financial records that are reported on a daily basis.

· Quality of input into annual budgets

· Decision Support & Monthly Reporting Requirements.

  • Per annual performance targets

Reporting

· Review reports monthly from the Commercial units relating to progress made within the sub-division and in accordance with the measurement metrics set by the organization

· Review reports on specific projects as per the defined timelines

Budgets

· Assist the HODs of commercial divisions to manage departmental budgets in line with business objectives

· Provide financial service support in project initiative in line with business objectives

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Educational Standards

· Minimum of first degree in Accounting/Finance

· MBA or Masters’ degree

· Professional Accounting certification is added advantage

Experience Standards

· 5 years of relevant experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory role

· Proficient in the use of ERP (Oracle NetSuite)

· Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting

· Advanced knowledge of excel and other MS programs

· Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures
