ABOUT US
Riders for Health (Riders) is a social enterprise that works with ministries of health and other agencies toimprovethehealth and lives of rural communities by managing transportation in Nigeria, Zimbabwe, the Gambia, Kenya, Zambia,Lesotho, Malawi and Liberia. The management of transport is a sorely neglected and yet one of the most vital aspectsofdevelopment especially health care delivery.
Riders has a solid base of experience and expertise managing appropriate vehicles for health care deliveryinAfricaforover 33 years.
We run more than 1,400 vehicles (a number that is growing), enabling health workers to reach more than 14million people in rural Africa and deliver vital preventive health care on a regular basis.
RIDERS IN LIBERIA
Riders and the Ministry of Health in Liberia began conversations around mid-2013 about working together. Ridershasbeen operating in Liberia since March 2015 and initiated two projects in Liberia to support the government’swork:1)anational specimen transport system for Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) testing and now for IDSR specimen includingEbolaandwill be adding HIV and TB specimen in due course and 2) fleet management for the donated fleet of four-wheeledvehicles and motorcycles as part of the Ebola response, this project ended but infrastructure to support asimilarsystemremains.
Role and responsibilities:
The M&E/ICT coordinator will be working with the Head of Monitoring & Evaluation Unit andICTstaff orcolleagues at the Liberia’s Head Office in Monrovia, Liberia. The ICT Coordinator drives theuseoftechnology in the organization, provides effective ICT systems, helps monitor and implements ICT standardsand policies, and manages the organization cloud base data system (Fulcrum, Aertrak, etc.), workwithaninternational staff, updates the website and other communication systems (social and regular) andmarketsand provide technology support and solutions to meet the needs of the organization.
The M&E/ICT Coordinator will manage the overall technology infrastructure for Riders Liberia basedintheMonrovia Office including planning, implementation and management of the software applications, including monitoring of Fulcrum, Aertrak and working with Riders international ICT Staff to monitor andupdate the website and other communication systems (social and regular) and marketing and updatingofthose sites and hardware infrastructure that supports the full operations of Riders system.
The M&E/ICT Coordinator will be involved in systems administration including general computer support;upgrades; software installations; license management; server set up and management; network andprintersupport; deployment of equipment; management of inventories; end user support.
The M&E/ICT Coordinator will be working with international Staff to monitor and update the websiteandother communication systems (social and regular) and marketing. Also leads in cyber security protectingthe organisation’s computers and information system from spyware, phishing software, virus andbugs. Managing computer use and security and to reduce the organisation from the exposure of virus.
The M&E/ICT Coordinator will provide full support to the M & E department during all forms of reportingby downloading, cleaning, synthesizing and presenting the needed data, including but not limitedtoGPStracking data, FULCRUM specimen transport related data, GPS monitoring and management, datavalidation, etc.
S/he will oversee providing user training on common business applications and use of the RidersICTsystems.
The ICT Coordinator will also be responsible for managing or contributing to various ICT projects. This mayinclude: coordinating a premises move and planning the related ICT infrastructure; assessment of applications and technology; formulating and presenting solution options to various levels of management; influencing and advising on the equipment or software selection process; overseeing implementationof Riders’ ICT systems and key project deliverables. Travel to other countries where Riders is operatingmayoccasionally be necessary to receive training.
Supported technologies include but are not limited to: wired and wireless networks, storage systems, Microsoft Active Directory, Windows OS, MS Office suites, end user workstations, laptops and various proprietary and commercial software applications and hardware.
