PRIMARY FUNCTION OF JOB
Mission:
Examine patients and perform health assessments, run diagnostic tests, prescribe medication, review patients’
medical history, create and administer treatment plans, and provide counseling to patients’ on their health and
well-being.
MAJOR DUTIES OF JOB HOLDER
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Medical Director, coordinate other subordinate medical staff such as Physician
Assistants, Laboratory Technicians, X-Ray Technicians, etc.
Participate fully in the day-to-day running of the hospital services and practices, including drafting of policies
and guidelines as appropriate.
Assess, examine, screen, diagnose and treat patients in the Outpatient Department (OPD) and In-patient
Department (IPD).
Perform basic surgical procedures within the professional capacity of the medical/clinical staff.
Assist the Medical Director in providing leadership and coordination of medical and administrative policies
of the hospital and medical staff.
Perform all medical duties and calls required as determined by the Medical Director to help safeguard
patients’ health and safe lives.
Conduct appropriate training of subordinate medical staff in the Hospital where applicable.
Supervise medical Outreach programs necessary to the Hospital and the Management of the Company.
Provide direction and schedule of important medical functions such as surgery, ward rounds, continuous
medical education (CME), etc.
Proactively handle and/or diffuse any situation that involves agitated, confused, scared or emotional patients
and family members with a high degree of tolerance and compassion.
Adhere to laws, policies, and procedures to ensure that quality health care is paramount.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Safety:
Actively participate and contribute to site safety policy and new initiatives.
Develop and promote a pro-active safety culture by the identification, development, dissemination and
review of safe practices and procedures and by ensuring the awareness of team members.
Education Requirements for this position (Formal qualifications)
Essential Education: University Degree in Medicine
Experience: Minimum of 10 years experience, 5 of which must be in an acute hospital setting. Must
have been a practicing General practitioner or worked at the Medical Consultant level.
