POSITION: Microbiologist

CLASSIFICATION: A2

REPORT TO: Quality Assurance Manager

DEPARTMENT: Brewhouse

Skills/Attributes

1. Proficient in handling and usage of microscope
2. Ability to observe, identify and isolate microorganisms using various techniques
3. Able to execute task under minimal supervision
4. Good qualitative analytical skill
5. Ability to use both hands is an advantage
6. Excellent at critical thinking
7. Good team player

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Conduct required microbiological analysis of all ingredients, raw materials, in-process, and finished product samples.
2. Organize, prepare, and conduct yeast propagation periodically
3. Ensure safety guidelines are always followed and maintain a clean and orderly working environment.
4. Run additional microbiological diagnostics when it is required.
5. Support laboratory staff by performing chemical technical analysis
6. Assist in the calibration of all lab equipment and support lab staff to maintain accurate inventory monthly.
7. Enhance laboratory and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different request and exploring opportunity to add value to job accomplishment.
8. Computing and compilation of all reports related to the job
9. Will be required to carry out other duties assigned by his supervisor when necessary.

Educational Requirements:

1. University Degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related field
2. Intermediate or Advance level training in microbiology relative to the brewing industry

Basic Requirements:

1. At least 3 years working experience in related field or microbiological laboratory.
2. Excellent physical condition and endurance.
3. Ability to work autonomously and under pressure.
4. Proven experience as Lab Technician or relevant position
5. Experience in operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory

equipment including potentially dangerous substances (Flammable liquids,

biogas etc.)

1. Computer literate(intermediate) in Microsoft Excel and Words etc.
2. Good oral and written communication skill
3. Deeply knowledgeable of the usage of Microscopes and microbial determinations.
4. Knowledge of HACCP is an advantage.
