POSITION : NSS Technician
REPORTING TO : NOC Manager
DEPARTMENT : Technology
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
- Overall Monitoring of all Network alarms RAN, Core, ISP/IP, IN, and Environs.
- Trouble Ticket management, Create, Dispatch, Follow Up, and Closure of TTs. Including SMS notifications.
- Ability to provide firsthand information about Network health 24×7.
- Maintaining customer/clients/Vendors/Suppliers/Sites/ database.
- Periodic testing of network Services and report generation.
- Incident Management and coordination in a 24×7 environment.
- Technical assistance and support in identifying and handling the technical issues in the network.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Technical activities:
- Alarm Monitoring, and troubleshooting of all network nodes.
- Creation of Trouble Tickets and dispatch to respective owners, namely Power, BSS, ISP, IN, and NSS.
- Follow up with respective teams and timely Escalation to the respective managers as per the SLA.
- Closure of trouble ticket with proper RCA.
- Coordination of all Planned Activities and ensuring systems are restored to normal after every Planned Activity.
- Services testing and confirmation of compliance.
- Coordination with external Clients/Suppliers/Vendors/ B2B customers for timely escalation and resolution of incidents in the Network.
Administrative and organization activities:
- Generate and circulate daily reports.
- Generate Qos/KPI report and circulate
- Keep site databases such as site contacts, configuration, and environs, up to date.
- Maintenance of Log register of site access.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Relevant university degree: Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications, and Information Technology
Experience:
- Excellent understanding of various kinds of Cabling and wiring
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills on ADC DSX
- Quick in responding to the incident and timely escalation.
- Good understanding of telecommunications network elements and topology.
- Wireless technology, IP Networking, and computers for reporting.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
- Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Time management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, oral, and written)
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Ability to work in shifts.
