BACKGROUND
VOSIEDA is partnering with UNICEF and other UN agencies to implement Empower and Nurture: Harnessing the Full Potential of Adolescent Girls in Liberia. The project addresses persistent gaps in adolescent health, nutrition, and protection, which remain particularly acute in Liberia, where women and girls continue to face heightened vulnerability driven by harmful social norms, unequal power relations, and discriminatory gender practices.
The Nutritionist will be deployed to Grand Gedeh or Rivercess and will work closely with government counterparts and implementing partners to strengthen integrated nutrition services for adolescent girls. Key responsibilities will include supporting iron and folic acid supplementation, deworming, nutrition counselling, preventive and promotive nutrition services, and related data analysis and reporting. Services will be delivered through schools, communities, and health facilities to ensure inclusive coverage. The role will also contribute to strengthening adolescent girls’ confidence, life skills, leadership, and meaningful participation in decisions affecting their well-being and future.
The Nutrition Officer will support County Health Teams in Grand Gedeh, Montserrado, and Rivercess by managing NEP nutrition activities, coordinating, handling data, reporting, ensuring quality assurance, and resolving problems under the Project Coordinator’s supervision.
TASKS & FUNCTIONS
The Nutrition Officer is expected to provide technical support with a specific focus on the following elements:

Technical and operational support to programme implementation · Support the government to provide a package of nutrition interventions to adolescents in schools, health facilities, and the community. (IFA, deworming, and nutrition education) · Provide support to the government to ensure schools health clubs are functional with school gardens and promote nutrition education · Support the government in conducting food demonstration classes conducted in schools and communities with adolescent girls for knowledge sharing · Conduct regular programme field visits and exchange information with partners and stakeholders to assess progress and provide technical support. Take appropriate action to resolve issues and/or refer to relevant officials for resolution. Report on critical issues, bottlenecks, and potential problems for timely action to achieve results. · Support with timely data collection and ensure the quality of the data |

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A university degree in one of the fields is required: nutrition, public health, global/international health and nutrition, health/nutrition research and monitoring, policy and/or management, health sciences, nutritional epidemiology, or another Nutrition field.
Experience: Minimum of five years of professional experience is required in nutrition, public health, maternal, infant, and child health/nutrition, or related health sciences. Experience in health or nutrition programme and project development is an added advantage. Candidates must be fluent in spoken and written English and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management and data manipulation.
