Latter Day Saints Charities (LDSC) has invited CRS to submit a proposal to address the global critical nutrition needs of adolescent girls and young women, with an emphasis on a multi-regional perspective and incorporating a significant goods delivery component. NCHC will be working with CRS on this project and the successful candidate will be based at the NCHC office.

Job Summary:

The position has the primary responsibility to develop and support nutritional interventions for the Health Living Through Integrated Nutrition Activities (HELINA) project. The Nutrition Project Officer will be responsible for supporting activities, training, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of all nutrition-related interventions under the HELINA project. The Project Officer will coordinate closely with National Catholic Health Council (NCHC) field staff working with communities served by the project, with other project staff and management. The position holder will be based in Montserrado County.

Roles and Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the coordination and implementation of all assigned project activities as outlined in the detailed implementation plan in line with CRS program quality principles and standards, donor requirements, and good practices.
  • Monitor and report any challenges and/or gaps identified to inform adjustments to plans and implementation schedules.
  • Assist partners in their efforts to reflect on project experiences.
  • Support accountability through coordinating project evaluation activities and assisting partners in their efforts to collect and analyze project data per specified mechanisms and tools.
  • Collaborate with local partner(s) to prepare reports per the established reporting schedule.
  • Collect information on staff capacity needs and technical assistance needs of partner organizations and monitor the capacity building and technical support activities to ensure effective impact.
  • Complete project documentation for assigned activities. Assist with identifying information for case studies and reports on promising practices.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or other health sciences is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in project support.
  • Experience in the field of nutrition/health and working with adolescent girls and young women for an NGO would be a plus.
  • Experience working with partners, participatory action planning and community engagement.
  • Experience monitoring projects and collecting relevant data.
  • Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to be flexible and effective in the face of unexpected challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience living and working in resource-limited environments is strongly preferred.

  • Experience monitoring projects and collecting relevant data preferred.
  • Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
