Position: Nutrition Supervisor– ELWA Nutrition Program
Department: Health and Nutrition
Location: Monrovia, Montserrado County
Project Duration: 4 months (September 1st – December 31st 2020)-Pending Funding
Reporting to: Nutrition Coordinator
Job Summary
The Nutrition supervisor will provide support to the ELWA Nutrition Unit through the mentorship and
coaching of under-fives at community level identification mal-nutrition cases. Strengthen community level
referral pathway through coordination with responsible partners.
Responsibilities / Duties (but not limited to):
Overall responsibility for monitoring implementation and results of the project:
• Mentor and coach health workers on IMAM as per national guidelines/protocols
• Support health facilities to establish and manage regular essential and therapeutic drug supply chain to
ensure no stock outs.
• Ensure proper record keeping is being carried out at each health facility and support in preparation
and submission of monthly IMAM reports.
• Assist OTP sites in referral of complicated SAM cases to IPF
• Participate in OTP/IPF trainings for at ELWA OPD
• Conduct screening at community level and refer to ELWA hospital
• Conduct weekly follow up with defaulted clients
• Conduct awareness activities at community level with community leaders on mal nutrition
• Maintain coordination with ELWA nutrition ward
• Coordinate with Montserrado nutrition Focal Person
• Support ELWA nutrition ward staff, generate and report monthly
Requirements:
• Excellent communication, organization and planning skills
• Computer literacy and any experience compiling/collecting data strongly desired.
• 2-4 years of working experience within a health-related field
• Prior experience in IMAM Activities is key
• Strong administration skills and training skills required.
Education/Qualification:
• Registered Nurse / Physician Assistant with current license
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily.
• Ability to maintain positive working relationships with fellow staff
