The Women Intern Project is an initiative by Mercy Corps Liberia to enhance the employability and professional growth of young women in Liberia. This program seeks to address gender disparity in the workforce by equipping women with the necessary skills, exposure, and confidence to thrive in professional settings. The program will engage young women from diverse academic and socio-economic backgrounds, offering them mentorship, skill development, and practical experience. Interns will contribute to Mercy Corps’ ongoing projects, gaining hands-on experience while building a strong foundation for their future careers.

Mercy Corps responsibilities
For the duration of this internship assignment the intern will receive: all the training and capacity building to deliver the duties assigned to him/her.

Intern responsibilities
The intern will remain responsible for all duties assigned to him/her based of training given by Mercy Corps- see the intern’s responsibilities below:
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Operations Intern will support the daily Operations in the Buchanan Office, which includes reviewing and following up all Operations processes from program, supplier and finance. The intern will gain hands-on experience in operations on procurement and organizational culture development while supporting the execution of key initiatives that enhance the intern experience at Mercy Corps.
This role is an excellent opportunity for females looking to gain valuable experience in operations on procurement and organizational development within an international non-profit organization.

INTERN’S RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Support all Operations works at the Buchanan office for LEARN II, EJO and ILA
2.Ensure that invoices are closed for the LEARN II project
3.Work with the HOO
4.Ensure that guest houses are booked for all team members
5. PRs are raised for all work
6.Initiate all Field level payment
7.Support all filing and documentation for LEARN II close-out.
8.Assisting on ensuring the administrative process adheres to the Mercy Corps FP3 ProSource Procurement Policies and Procedures
9.Assisting on tracking all submitted Purchasing Requisitions (PR) including ensuring suppliers sign
10.Assisiting to ensure that there is no conflict of interest between field Mercy Corps staff and suppliers, inform the Head of Operations if there is any conflict of interest exists or may exist.
11.Be adaptable and flexible to takeon new tasks and new assignments as requested from time to time.

Qualifications:
•Fresh graduate from an accredited and reputable university
•Excellent Communication skills
•A demonstrated ability to multitask and process information into action in a timely manner
•A strong interest in operations management/
•Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
•A proactive and flexible attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
•Strong computer skill on using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Words, etc), understanding SAP program will be advantage
•Fluency in English Language.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
•The intern will be expected to work 40 hours a week
•The intern will be paid a monthly allowance of 200 USD
