Position Title: Operations Manager
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Location: Monrovia, Republic of Liberia
Employment Type: Full-time
Direct Reports: Operational staff, supervisors, and unit coordinators as assigned
1. Position Summary
The Operations Manager supports the Chief Executive Officer in delivering the day-to-day operational management of the DBT Group and its subsidiaries. The role is responsible for implementing operating policies, coordinating activities across business units, monitoring performance, and ensuring that operational plans set by the CEO are executed efficiently and consistently.
Working closely with subsidiary teams, the Operations Manager acts as a hands-on link between Group-level strategy and on-the-ground execution, driving efficiency, quality, compliance, and accountability across operations.
2. Key Responsibilities
Operational Coordination
- Implement and monitor day-to-day operational activities across assigned business units under the direction of the CEO.
- Coordinate workflows, schedules, and resources to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Serve as the primary operational point of contact between subsidiary teams and the CEO.
- Ensure operational plans, targets, and standards are communicated to and understood by relevant teams.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Track operational KPIs and prepare regular performance reports for the CEO.
- Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and performance gaps, and recommend corrective action.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control activities at the operational level.
- Maintain accurate operational records, dashboards, and documentation.
Process & Quality Management
- Implement standardized operating procedures and controls across business units.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, service quality, and productivity.
- Ensure resources, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained and utilized.
- Support the rollout of Group-wide systems, tools, and operational initiatives.
Team Supervision & Support
- Supervise assigned operational staff, supervisors, and coordinators.
- Allocate tasks, set priorities, and monitor day-to-day performance of the team.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of operational personnel.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and teamwork.
Compliance & Risk
- Ensure operational activities comply with Group policies and applicable Liberian laws and regulations.
- Identify and escalate operational, safety, and compliance risks to the CEO.
- Support internal audits, inspections, and regulatory requirements as needed.
Cross-Functional Support
- Coordinate with finance, HR, procurement, and other functions to support operations.
- Assist the CEO with special projects, restructuring, and new initiatives.
- Provide operational input into planning and decision-making across the Group.
3. Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Operations, or a related field; a Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant operational or management experience, preferably in a multi-unit or diversified business environment.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating operations, managing teams, and improving processes.
- Familiarity with budgeting, performance reporting, and operational controls.
- Knowledge of the Liberian business environment is an advantage.
