About the Role

The Operations Manager will manage a team of warehouse staff and drivers and be responsible for warehousing and logistics across Easy Solar’s fast growing network of 7+ shops and agents in Liberia. He/She will ensure the effective and accurate delivery of solar products and other goods across the country. He/She will also be responsible for setting, tracking, and maintaining inventory and replenishment policies such that last-mile communities have the same access and availability as those in urban areas. The role will involve setting up and maintaining warehouses, setting up and maintaining new and existing shops, and overseeing a fleet of company vehicles. The role will also require the control of incoming and outgoing finished goods, inventory management, as well as coordinating with the After-Sales team on the reverse logistics of damaged goods. It is a busy and vital role at the heart of Easy Solar’s operations and you will be expected to work odd hours on short notice.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Team Building – Identify, recruit and develop, and train local teams of warehouse staff and drivers
  • Team Management – Providing leadership, direction and day-to-day management of the warehouse and fleet teams
  • Inventory Control – Working closely with Finance to ensure proper registration of storage and movement of all items on the system. Running regular physical checks to ensure records are accurate
  • Fleet Management – Working closely with the Procurement Lead to ensure the fleet of vehicles is appropriate for purpose and well-maintained
  • Facilities Management – Coordinating and managing all shop set ups, and ensuring that all facilities are fully operational and functional with utilities where necessary
  • Replenishment – Working closely with the Head of Supply Chain to ensure inventory is distributed to the right location at the right time at the right cost. Including management of reverse logistics for items requiring repair or replacement
  • Reporting – Establish a set of KPIs to monitor and report Operations performance

Required Education & Experience

  • University degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years’ logistics experience
  • Ability to design, communicate and implement processes
  • Ability to clearly communicate and present data, analysis
  • Ability to build strong relationships and people, internally and externally.
  • Good communication skills, written and oral
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • High integrity, a strong worth ethic, and be a self-starter as well as having the ability to juggle multiple projects
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives
