Job Summary:

FHI 360 is seeking an Operations Manager for the Liberia Country Office. The Operations Manager

will oversee the day-to-day operational activities of the projects. S/He must understand all applicable

Liberian laws and regulations that affect all operations and administrative activities of FHI360

Projects. S/He will work closely with the project management to ensure administrative, contractual,

and logistical efficiency and compliance. will be responsible for the overall maintenance of the office.

He/She will establish and maintain sound operations management practices and ensure that FHI

360 complies with USG procedures, rules, and regulations.

Accountabilities:

  • Manages and guides the day-to-day operational activities of the project with an emphasis

on leases, office maintenance, logistics, and overall administrative project operations.

  • Ensure all operations and administrative activities are consistent with the project’s

annual work plan.

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with organization and/or donor’s policies and regulations for

asset management, logistics, and other areas: monitor concerns and address staff’s

questions regarding all operational matters; advise and take corrective action.

  • Ensure that all administrative and operational documents are tracked and monitored,

including developing and managing an appropriate tracking mechanism.

  • Coordinate and monitor program activities with respective project and field staff,

operational activities.

  • Oversee administrative activities related to logistics, supply chain, inventory, and other

administrative activities.

  • May serve as a specialist responsible for gathering facts, analyzing findings, reaching logical

conclusions, and recommending solutions.

  • Manages the project’s filing system for the department (documentation,

materials, and deliverables).

  • Maintains frequent contacts with management and staff, coordinates activities, and serves

as a resource regarding administrative policies and procedures.

  • Performs other duties assigned.

  • Ability to initiate and implement activities with minimal oversight and supervision, assess

priorities, and competently complete a variety of activities with a high level of accuracy and

timeliness.

  • Ability to plan and coordinate business operations or administrative and support services.

  • High degree of computer literacy with excellent knowledge of word processing and

spreadsheet software applications required (WordPerfect for Windows and/or MS Word; MS

Excel).

  • Resolves issues and navigates obstacles to deliver work products.
  • Identifies and resolves problems that would not require management’s direct involvement

on time and gathers and analyzes information skillfully.

goals.

  • Demonstrates ability to differentiate between situations that can be handled independently

and those that require escalation.

Education: **

  • Bachelor’s degree or its international equivalent in Business Management, Finance, or

a related field.

Experience: **

  • Typically requires 5+ years of relevant experience in operations and administration, and at

least three years with USG rules and regulations

  • Prior work in a non-governmental organization (NGO).
  • Ability to spend long hours looking at a computer screen and doing repetitive work on a

keyboard
