Responsible to: Operations Manager

Location: Tubmanburg, Bomi County, Liberia

Contract length: Permanent

Job purpose

Reporting to Operations Manager, the Operations Officer will be responsible for a broad range of logistical activities which include: storage management, asset management, facilities management, and other duties as and when required by management.

Key activities

Supplier Performance Management

  • Work with the outsourcing team during delivery in to received and compile of distribution report.

Food and non-food items delivery and retrieval management

  • Liaise with the delivery team to retrieve damaged from schools
  • Work closely with the delivery team to transfer food from one school to another. Update tracker on a monthly basic
  • Work with the delivery for the delivery of non-food items and the retrieval damaged non-food items.

Asset Management

  • Responsible to update all MML assets by recording receipts, issuances, and disposals by working closely with OM and POL.
  • Maintain an updated asset register of all non-capitalized equipment owned by Mary’s Meals Conduct routine confirmations of all items listed on the asset register and resolve any discrepancies that may arise

Facilities Management

  • Planning with the team and supervising building maintenance and repair activities Supervising building systems and equipment, such as wash rom lighting
  • Ensuring compliance with building maintenance guide
  • Ensures facilities are clean and maintained
  • Oversee building and grounds maintenance
  • Manages custodial functions (e.g. gardeners, cleaners, etc.)
  • Inspect completed work by vendors/contractors
  • Recommend maintenance, mechanical, and/or electrical repairs.

Storage Management

  • Conduct routine or unannounced stock takes in Mary’s Meals store in coordination with the Operations Manager and Programmes department
  • Any other reasonable task as requested by management.

Qualifications, skills and experienceEssentialDesirable
Degree in Supply Chain and Logistics, Business, or any other related disciplines
At least three years of experience working in a similar capacity for a reputable company or INGO
Results oriented experience working with and managing the performance of strategic suppliers
Experience working with Revenue Authorities in a similar capacity
Experience overseeing facilities and working knowledge of maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.)
Proficient skills in Microsoft applications, principally Word and Excel
