The Rising Academy Network (RAN) operates a number of government schools as part of the
Liberian Education Advancement program. Our mission is to provide the highest-quality learning

RAN is growing, and will be managing additional schools this year. In order to manage this growth,
we are expanding our team at our head office in Monrovia and looking for exceptional leaders to

Operations Officer
We are seeking an ambitious, motivated and highly organized Operations Officer for our Monrovia
head office. The individual will report to the Operations and Finance Manager to support Rising
Academies in the successful execution of a number of strategic projects that are central to our
organizational development and growth.

Key responsibilities:
• Supporting preparations for the launch of new schools by coordinating and driving progress
in key work streams, including systems for student and school performance tracking and the
integration of technology across our operations
• Supporting management and continuous improvement of a high quality, efficient inventory
system, from procurement to distribution
• Supporting the implementation of a school-level management information system for
tracking data on student attendance, learning and behavior
• Liaising with RAN’s Principals and other stakeholders, over the phone and via email
• Carrying out all work with complete transparency
• Unwavering adherence to RAN’s policies and procedures and its four values: hardworking,
honest, helpful and happy
As would be expected in this growth phase, the focus of the role is broad and may change over time
as the organization develops, so the successful candidate will need to be flexible and willing to
adapt.
Education, experience and skills required:
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in a role with financial or managerial responsibility in
a company or NGO
• University level post-graduate and/or undergraduate degree
• Exceptional English language skills (written and spoken)
• Exceptional proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Gmail (email) and use of the internet
• Ability to learn how to use tablet & smart phone software applications easily
• Keen attention to detail
• Strong organizational and record keeping skills
• Excellent leadership skills and experience of managing others
• Proactive approach to work and communications
• Strong relationship building skills and teamwork
• Willingness to learn, give and receive feedback, and try new approaches
• Ability to work independently and multi-task
• Demonstrable entrepreneurial flair and ability to make things happen in the face of
adversity
• Experience of managing and reporting budgets
