Mercy Corps responsibilities
For the duration of this internship assignment the intern will receive: all the trainings and capacity building to deliver the duties assigned to him/her.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The People and Culture Intern will support the daily functions of the People and Culture department, which include employee engagement, recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, and administrative tasks. The intern will gain hands-on experience in People and Culture operations and organizational culture development while supporting the execution of key initiatives that enhance the employee experience at Mercy Corps.

This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in People and Culture and organizational development within an international non-profit organization.

 

INTERN’S RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Assist in posting job openings, screening applications, and scheduling interviews.
2.Support in the coordination of the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing onboarding materials, managing orientation schedules, and setting up employee accounts.
3.Help maintain and update recruitment databases and candidate tracking systems

4. Assist with organizing employee engagement activities, such as team-building events, recognition programs, and wellness initiatives.
5. Assist in maintaining personnel files, ensuring accurate record-keeping and document compliance.
6. Provide general administrative support to the People and Culture team, including preparing reports, processing People and Culture paperwork, and responding to employee inquiries.
7. Support the coordination of training sessions and learning opportunities for staff members.
8. Be adaptable and flexible to take new tasks and new assignments as requested from time to time.

 

Qualifications:
•A minimum of bachelor’s degree in Social Science or Management.
•Fresh graduate from an accredited and reputable university
•Excellent Communication skills
•A demonstrated ability to multitask and process information into action in a timely manner
•A strong interest in people operations, human resources, or organizational culture.
•Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
•A proactive and flexible attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
•Ability to use the following Microsoft Productivity tools: Excel and Word
•Fluency in English Language.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
•The intern will be expected to work 40 hours a week
•The intern will be paid a monthly allowance of 200 USD
