ASSIGNMENT TYPE: Full-time

LOCATION: Monrovia, Liberia

LENGTH: 12-months with possibility to extend based on performance and budget

POSITION SUMMARY:
Americares is looking for a People and Talent (P &T) Officer to support the overall HR functions of our Liberia office. The P &T Officer will lead and provide support to staff and partners on matters related to recruitment, onboarding, travel, employee relations, other people operations and administrative tasks. In this capacity, the P & T Officer will ensure efficient, transparent, reliable and inclusive human resources processes in compliance with Liberian legal requirements, donor regulations and Americares HQ human resources policies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Lead the recruitment process for staff as required, including advertisement, resume short-listing, phone screens, interview scheduling, and offer extension
-Coordinate the onboarding process for new staff, including administering employee health and welfare plans and acting as a liaison between employees and insurance providers, policies and handbook overviews, and orientation to the team; coordinate the offboarding of departing employees
-Collaborate with P&T HQ team to develop and implement policies and processes where necessary based on local context
-Implement Americares staff performance and evaluation policies and processes in a timely fashion
-Provide employee relations support, lead investigations when necessary with knowledge of local employee rights, and determine disciplinary action if appropriate
-Resolves benefits-related problems in collaboration with P&T HQ team
-Provide compliance oversight to Americares internal processes and local labor law
-Work with the Finance Manager to collect necessary payroll paperwork and submit the monthly payroll
-Support the Country Director in monitoring and coordinating compliance activities
-Liaise with P&T HQ when necessary to answer questions or provide information on the country office
-Work with the Finance Manager to ensure that Americares is in compliance with all Liberian legal regulations as it applies to an NGO operating in Liberia, including registrations, insurance, etc.
