The pharmacy dispenser is responsible for accurately dispensing prescribed medications, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. He/she reports to the pharmacist and the pharmacy manager for issues concerning quality and finance respectively.
Responsibilities:
Medication Dispensing:
Accurately interpret prescription orders and dispense medications following established protocols.
Label and package prescriptions appropriately.
Customer Service:
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns.
Offer guidance on medication usage and potential side effects.
Inventory Management:
Monitor and manage medication inventory levels.
Place orders for medication replenishment as needed.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and pharmacy policies.
Maintain accurate records of dispensed medications.
Respect SOS children’s villages policies: code of conduct, child and youth safeguarding policy, PSHEA, etc
Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with pharmacy staff, healthcare providers (physicians, PA, nurses and aids) and other team members.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
Quality Assurance:
Perform routine quality checks to ensure the accuracy and integrity of dispensed medications.
Report any discrepancies or issues promptly to pharmacist and/or pharmacy manager.
Patient Education:
Educate patients on proper medication usage, potential side effects, and any other relevant information.
