Job Description: Pharmacy Technician

Location: Pediatric Outpatient Department (Ages 0-6 years)

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Technician supports the pharmacist in the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy by assisting with dispensing medications, inventory management, record keeping, and ensuring proper storage and handling of pharmaceutical products. The role is essential in promoting safe, efficient, and quality pharmaceutical services.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing prescribed medications.
• Accurately label medicines according to prescriptions and standard procedures.
• Receive, check, store, and arrange medicines and medical supplies.
• Monitor stock levels and report low, expired, or damaged items.
• Maintain dispensing records, stock cards, and inventory logs.
• Ensure proper storage conditions and follow FIFO/FEFO principles.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy.
• Support audits, inspections, and reporting requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by pharmacy management.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Certificate or Diploma in Pharmacy Technology from a recognized institution.
• Eligible for licensing or registered with the relevant regulatory authority in Liberia.
• At least three (3) years of experience in a pharmacy or health facility (preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret prescriptions.
• Basic computer skills are an advantage.
