JOB SUMMARY
The Plant Manager / Crushing Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day management of Edrine Rock Crusher Inc.’s crushing plant and quarry operations. This role oversees production planning, equipment performance, workforce supervision, safety compliance, and quality control to ensure that aggregate production targets are met efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively. The successful candidate will be a hands-on operational leader with strong technical knowledge of crushing and screening equipment, capable of managing a diverse production team and maintaining consistent output in line with company objectives.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plant Operations & Production Management
- Plan, organize, and supervise all daily crushing plant operations, including primary, secondary, and tertiary crushing, screening, and stockpiling activities.
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet daily, weekly, and monthly output targets.
- Monitor production data and adjust operations to optimize plant throughput, product gradation, and material quality.
- Coordinate with the General Manager on production forecasts, capacity planning, and resource allocation.
- Ensure the efficient operation of crushers, screens, conveyors, loaders, and related plant machinery.
Equipment Maintenance & Reliability
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for crushing and screening equipment in collaboration with the maintenance/mechanical team.
- Minimize equipment downtime through proactive inspection, timely repairs, and proper spare parts planning.
- Monitor wear parts (jaw plates, mantles, concaves, screens, conveyor belts) and coordinate timely replacement.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and equipment performance records.
Team Supervision & Human Resource Management
- Supervise, train, and evaluate plant operators, crusher operators, loader operators, and general labor staff.
- Assign duties, prepare work schedules/shift rosters, and manage staff attendance and performance.
- Enforce company policies, discipline, and codes of conduct on site.
- Identify staff training needs and coordinate skills development in liaison with Human Resources.
- Foster a productive, cooperative, and safety-conscious work environment.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Enforce strict compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and company HSE policies.
- Conduct regular safety briefings, toolbox talks, and site inspections.
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all personnel and visitors.
- Monitor environmental compliance, including dust control, noise management, and proper handling of waste materials.
Quality Control & Material Management
- Monitor aggregate quality and gradation to ensure products meet client and industry specifications.
- Coordinate with quality control personnel to conduct sieve analysis and other material testing as required.
- Manage stockpile inventory and coordinate loading/dispatch of finished products.
- Liaise with the General Manager on material specifications for specific customer or project requirements.
Administrative & Reporting Duties
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production, maintenance, and safety reports to the General Manager.
- Monitor and control operational costs, including fuel, spare parts, and labor, within approved budgets.
- Maintain accurate site records, logbooks, and operational documentation.
- Participate in operational planning meetings and provide input on plant improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to quarry and crushing operations in Liberia.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma or Degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related technical field (equivalent extensive hands-on experience will also be considered).
- A minimum of 7 to 15 years of progressive experience in crushing plant operations, quarry management, or aggregate/mining production, with demonstrated supervisory or plant management experience.
- Strong working knowledge of crushing and screening equipment, plant layouts, and production processes.
- Proven experience in team supervision, workforce planning, and performance management.
- Solid understanding of occupational health, safety, and environmental compliance in a quarry/industrial setting.
- Good working knowledge of maintenance planning and equipment troubleshooting.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to prepare clear operational reports.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, email) for reporting and documentation purposes.
- Valid driver’s license is an added advantage.
- Willingness to reside or be based on/near the plant site in Zarzone Town, District 1, Margibi County.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is based on-site at the crushing plant in Zarzone Town, District 1, Margibi County, Liberia. The role requires the ability to work outdoors in a quarry/industrial environment, tolerate exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions, and be available for extended hours or occasional weekend work as production needs require.
