Job Title: Process Engineer

Job Summary

Within the framework of the plant’s production objectives and methods and of the quality objectives, his/her missions are to study and implement systems/tools/procedures to optimise the production process and lead the continuous performance optimization of the team.

Performance criteria

• Assure the relevance of key parameters used to monitor production processes as well as process data
• Make sure that technical surveys performed on the process are relevant and adequate (heat balance, inspection …)
• Ascertain the modifications to be made on various control parameters or on the process are relevant
• Ensures that environmental constraints are adhered to
• Collaborates with the Production team on process matters
• Guarantee quality of information and training to ensure good process control
• Prepares input data and manages the annual production budget

Responsibilities

• Trouble shooting non-conforming situations as they occur
• Regularly monitors the parameters relating to plant operation
• Defines instructions for process key parameters
• Defines production conditions for new or modified installations
• Conducts production process studies and audits deemed necessary or which are requested by the line management, with the possible assistance of experts from the technical centre
• Develops production process for a better output or a greater stability
• Liaises with the technical management for process issues and take part in the developments carried out by them
• Identify IT tools to facilitate work flow management
• Informs and trains operational staff

REQUIRED SKILLS/EDUCATION

Prospective or recent graduate with a Degree in Chemical Engineering or Industrial Engineering (focus on Process Engineering as the main subject)

TECHNICAL SKILLS :

Process skills of level I

Ability to: Perform the measurements of a basic process: aerolics / heat sciences; Organise and perform an audit of a plant based on a pre-established model; Write a preliminary audit report under the supervision of a senior process engineer; Control the process by using traditional process control tools good knowledge of the physico-chemical products, of relevant parameters and standards applicable to cement manufacturing; good knowledge of statistical process control methods and experimental design; good knowledge of project management methods,
