Mercy Corps responsibilities
For the duration of this internship assignment the intern will receive: all the training and capacity building to deliver the duties assigned to him/her.
Intern responsibilities
Intern will remain responsible for all duties assigned to him/her based of trainings given by Mercy Corps- see the intern’s responsibilities below:
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The ILA Procurement Intern will support the daily Procurement of ILA Food functions in the Operations department, which include reviewing and following up all procurement processes from program, supplier and finance. The intern will gain hands-on experience in operations on procurement and organizational culture development while supporting the execution of key initiatives that enhance the intern experience at Mercy Corps.
This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in operations on procurement and organizational development within an international non-profit organization.
INTERN’S RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assisting on ensuring procurement process of food items adhere to the Mercy Corps FP3 ProSource Procurement Policies and Procedures
2. Assisting on tracking all submitted food Purchasing Requisition (PR) including ensuring suppliers sign Purchase Order, submitting invoices and delivery notes on time.
3. Assisting on tracking payment to suppliers and ensure there is no pending payments
4. Coordinating with ILA program for food delivery schedule
5. Coordinating with ILA MEL program to ensure the quality of food delivered.
6. Assisiting to ensure that there is no conflict of interest between field Mercy Corps staff and suppliers, inform Head of Operations if there is any conflict of interest exist or may exist.
7. Be adaptable and flexible to take new tasks and new assignments as requested from time to time.
Qualifications:
Fresh graduate from an accredited and reputable university
Excellent Communication skills
A demonstrated ability to multitask and process information into action in a timely manner
A strong interest in operations management
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
A proactive and flexible attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
Strong computer skill on using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Words, etc), understanding SAP program will be advantage
Fluency in English Language.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The intern will be expected to work 40 hours a week
The intern will be paid a monthly allowance of 200 USD
