The Golden SIFCA INCORPORATED (GSI), which is involved with the processing of Oil Palm; and operating in Maryland County – Liberia, requires the professional services of the following:

Position: PROCUREMENT & LOGISTICS MANAGER (Ref#: PRO-LOG / GSI – 001-20)

Persons Needed: One (1)

Duty Station: Golden SIFCA Mill, Gbolobo, Pleebo-Sodoken District, Maryland County

Duration: INDEFINITE / PERMANENT

Mission: To efficiently carry out the following:

Provide the required standard of supply-chain network of goods, equipment & services for the GSI Mill which is constructed to produce eighty (80) tons of CPO per hour; comprising of not less than two hundred (200) staffs & workers of different sections and departments of the mill, dwelling in concessional accommodations on mill – site.

 

Scope: Coordinating, planning and organizing the movement of goods and materials from suppliers and factory right through to customers in line with company policies.

 

In accordance with the above, the professional PROCUREMENT & LOGISTICS MANAGER shall assume the following General and Technical competencies in bullet-points below:

General + Technical Competencies of PROCUREMENT & LOGISTICS MANAGER:-

(MA being Main Activity)

MA # 1. Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of buyers, purchasing officers, and related workers involved in purchasing materials, products, and services:-

 

  • Planning in collaboration with concerned functional heads for the procurement of all goods and services including but not limited to machinery, equipment, spare parts, stationery and other sundry supplies for the company.
  • Identifying and maintaining right vendors and service-providers for continuous supply.
  • Negotiating with suppliers on prices, credit terms, discounts, etc. and arrange delivery schedules.
  • Negotiating contracts within budgetary limitation.

 

MA # 2: Plan, direct and coordinate marketing policies and programs:-

 

  • Forecasting, planning, and communicating stocks & sales figures to customers and factory.
  • Achieving annual budgeted sales targets.
  • Driving monthly sales performance.

 

MA # 3: Prepare comprehensive periodic purchasing and sales reports for the attention of Management:-

  • Planning and managing sales and purchasing resources according to agreed budgets.
  • Ensuring weekly and monthly reports are submitted /presented to internal and external Management.
  • Ensuring purchasing and Sales statistics are well maintained.

 

MA # 4: Guarantee the availability of right grades of finished products from the Processing Plant for monthly forecast:-

 

  • Ensuring that stock of finished products are collated, updated and are in line with sales deadlines.
  • Ensuring that effective relationship is maintained among marketing, field and factory.
  • Ensuring that the production trend (by quality and quantity) is well understood and effectively communicated to customers when required.

MA # 5: Foster and maintain good relations with relevant institutions outside the company for effective performance of the activities (Customs, Chamber of Commerce, Ports, Shipping lines etc.):-

 

 

  • Representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external bodies.
  • Developing effective channels of communication – reports, manuals etc.
  • Ensuring frequent meetings between stakeholders both internal and external.

MA # 6: Guarantee accurate and timely delivery of materials and services to various departments by:-

 

  • Ensuring that materials and equipment are identified.
  • Ensuring delivery schedules of seasonal items are adhered to.
  • Working in collaboration with department Heads to implement and satisfy their requests.
  • Ensuring effective communication with departments to know and satisfy their needs.

 

MA # 7: Train and mentor subordinate staff:-

  • Identifying in collaboration with HR the formal educational needs of subordinates.
  • Providing appropriate tools and means for effective performance.
  • Providing the right working environment for staff.

 

MA # 8: Ensure that Corporate Marketing activities are executed as per the approved Budget:-

Negotiating service rates and contracts for all third party services in line with best rates as well as within budgetary rates.

Required Competencies: Purchasing and sales, Logistics Management, Marketing Management, Computer Skills (especially spreadsheets and databases), Good planning and organizational skills, Good spoken and written communication skills, Good problem-solving and math skills & Negotiation skills.

 

Required Behavioral Work Pattern: Team work, Ability to motivate and lead a team, Attention to details, Customer oriented, Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION

Internal: Minimum of First Degree in Supply Chain Management / an MBA qualification in a relevant field of studies with a minimum of 8 years working experience in a similar function.

 

External: Minimum of First Degree in Supply Chain Management/ an MBA qualification in a relevant field of studies with a minimum of 15 years working experience in a similar function.
