Job Title: Production Manager Department: Technical

Job Summary:
The Production Manager at the brewery is responsible for overseeing all brewing, fermentation, packaging, and production-related activities to ensure the efficient and safe manufacturing of high-quality beer. The role involves leading production teams, optimizing processes, maintaining compliance with brewing and safety standards, and supporting the strategic goals of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Oversight & Planning
· Develop, implement, and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet sales and inventory targets.
· Supervise all stages of the brewing process — from raw material intake, brewing, fermentation, filtration, to packaging.
· Ensure adherence to recipe specifications, production volumes, and yield targets.
· Lead and supervise brewers, production supervisors, operators, and shift teams.
· Provide coaching, mentorship, and training to improve team performance and technical skills.
· Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
· Monitor and optimize brewing and packaging processes to improve output, reduce waste, and minimize downtime.
· Implement Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Six Sigma methodologies to improve plant efficiency and reliability.
· Ensure efficient use of water, energy, and raw materials in line with sustainability goals.
2. Quality Control & Compliance
· Work closely with the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) team to ensure product consistency and compliance with company and industry standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO, food safety).
· Conduct root cause analysis of quality issues and implement corrective actions.
· Maintain hygiene and sanitation standards throughout the brewery.
3. Safety & Regulatory Compliance
· Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and brewery safety protocols.
· Conduct routine safety audits, risk assessments, and emergency preparedness drills.
· Ensure all operations are in line with local and national food and beverage manufacturing regulations.
4. Inventory & Resource Management
· Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure adequate availability of raw materials, packaging materials, and consumables.
· Monitor and control inventory levels and ensure accurate documentation in ERP or brewing software systems.
· Manage production budgets, control operational costs, and propose efficiency initiatives to improve margins.
· Track key production KPIs (OEE, yield, spoilage, line efficiency) and report regularly to senior management.
· Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager to ensure brewing and packaging equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
· Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and facility improvements
5. Qualifications & Experience:
· Master’s degree in Brewing Science, Food Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
· Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in a brewery or beverage production facility, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
· Strong understanding of brewing science, fermentation technology, filtration, and packaging systems.
· Experience with brewing software (e.g., BrewMan, OrchestratedBEER, SAP) is an advantage.
· Familiarity with regulatory standards in the food and beverage industry (GMP, HACCP, ISO, OSHA).

· Analytical experience in Chemical and Microbiological Analysis (preferably in the beverage industry)
· Maintenance Engineer
7. Working Conditions:
· Work is conducted primarily on the brewery floor with frequent exposure to heat, steam, pressurized systems, and wet environments.
· May require weekend or evening work during peak production times or maintenance shutdowns.
· Requires the use of PPE and strict adherence to safety and hygiene standards.
