Job Title: Program/Communications Officer

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Program/Communications Officer for the USAID-funded Liberia Education Systems Strengthening Activity (the Activity). This position will be based in Monrovia. Project description The 5-year Liberia Education Systems Strengthening Activity, will work in partnership with the Ministry of Education (MOE) to address system-wide constraints and increase the MOE’s capacity to provide decentralized and inclusive education, monitor progress, and sustain improved learning outcomes for all children and youth. The activity will support the central MOE to improve education data, resource management, and accountability, and work to improve county-, district-, and school-level governance processes and systems in Montserrado, Margibi, Lofa, Nimba, Bong, and Grand Bassa counties. The activity will target education officials and professionals at the central, county, district, and school level with its capacity development interventions with the end goal of improving education outcomes for children and youth.
Job Summary:
Major Responsibilities:
Lead program communications activities, including preparation of reporting deliverables, success stories, press
releases, and other internal and external program communications.
Assist the COP in identifying and amplifying relevant results related content for social media and stakeholder
outreach purposes.
Coordinate with the Programs, MEL, and relevant Technical Leads in programmatic reports
Ensure timely compilation of program and project data to meet internal and USAID reporting requirement and
deadlines;
Develop, implement and monitor a communication and visibility plan to facilitate better understanding among
other partners, USAID, beneficiaries, the media and the general public and government stakeholders
Act as the focal point for collecting and compiling information to produce external communication products
promoting the contribution of the project
Develop and implement a knowledge management strategy to ensure effective communication, visibility and
sharing of lessons learned/best practices within the ESSA consortium
Undertake field visits to gather information and results related to the project and prepare relevant field visit
reports and communication materials
Develop and maintain relationships with USAID DOC , other communications actors , national and local press and other media, to amplify messages.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, education, international development, or related field.
Minimum of 3 5 years of progressively responsible experience in communications, advocacy, and or reporting.
