The Planned Parenthood Association of Liberia (PPAL) is a voluntary, not for profit and equal opportunity organisation that undertakes advocacy and service delivery in Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in Liberia. PPAL is a Member Association (MA) of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). PPAL is seeking qualified persons for the following positions.

PROGRAMS MANAGER (PM)
a. Job purpose
The occupier has overall responsibility for leadership, coordination, technical and management oversight of SRHR program development and management in the NGO, accounting for overall success of the realization of Program objectives of the NGO. The responsibilities include the design, coordination and execution of successful performance of all on-going projects and service delivery activities of the NGO program thematic areas (SRHR including FP promotion, HIV/AIDS and Adolescents & Youth, Gender Mainstreaming and Advocacy) with strong results based program planning & management system aimed at achieving the outcomes of the Strategic Plan.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan the delivery of the overall sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights(SRHR) programme and services in accordance with the mission and the strategic goals of the MA and in alignment with IPPF service delivery standards
  • Develops new initiatives to support the strategic direction of PPAL
  • Responsible for the preparation of APB, HYR, AR and other donor’s reports.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as may be requested by the ED in line with PPAL mission.

Academic qualifications and other requirements
Education: MPH/MSC/MA in Public Health, Demography, Health Economics, Sociology, Population Study

  • Work Experience: 10yrs/12yrs experience out of which 8/10 years should be in Top or senior
    managerial/management position especially in a SRH organisation or project
  • Use of computer: Computer Proficiency in MS word, powerpoint, EXCEL, Access and other
    accounting software, including being able to use computer to conduct Desk researches

Mandatory

  • Sound knowledge of SRHR issues and priorities nationally,
  • High experience and capacity in proposal development,
  • Excellent report writing skills and people management skills
  • Zero tolerance for corruption, fraud and mis-management of organisational resources.
  • Must have positive attitude and disposition towards SRH programs especially as it relates
    to needs of young people other vulnerable and marginalized persons
  • Working knowledge of donor requirements in grant making
  • Zero tolerance for any form of harassment and violence against persons but most especially women, children and girls.
  • Strong believer in equal opportunities and being averse to any form of discrimination, and exploitation especially on the basis of gender and disability
