VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Project Manager Regional Resource Governance Liberia

Who we are?

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a German development agency that provides services in the field of international development cooperation and international education work. GIZ’s main commissioning party is Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

GIZ is one of the world’s largest development agencies, with a business volume in excess of $ 3.7 billion in 2019 as well as 22,199 employees spread over more than 120 countries.

GIZ was active in Liberia from 1974 until the outbreak of civil war in 1989. In 2010, GIZ reopened a regional office for Sierra Leone and Liberia in Monrovia and is supporting sustainable economic development through various projects.

The programme Regional Resource Governance in the Fragile States of West Africa, with headquarters in Freetown, Sierra Leone, is being implemented by GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and co-financed by the European Union (EU). It starts where political and economic interests have to be reconciled with development goals in a fragile context. The aim is to implement socially and ecologically responsible and transparent supply chains for minerals like gold. To this end, the project works in a multi-stakeholder approach with
