CRS will work closely with Liberia Water Sewer Corporation LWSC, the WASH Commission and a strong local WASH partner to implement this project. The constructions/rehabilitations of stand-alone water supply systems (power by solar energy) and the connections of selected communities with water kiosks couple with social behavior change activities will be key amongst WASH activities.
SILC+GTA – This is a Rural Savings for the Future project aimed at increasing financial and decision-making power among Liberian women living in rural areas. This project will address the financial and cultural barriers that women experience by using a two-pronged approach targeted at increasing financial capacity and money management for women while improving intra-household decision making so that women have an equal say in how savings and loans are used. This approach will consist of forming Savings Internal Lending Communities SILC groups for women in farming communities who are receiving technical assistance from the USAID Agriculture Sustainability Activity in Bong and Nimba Counties.
