Position Title: Receptionist

POSITION SUMMARY
The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact and public face of the school. The position is responsible for creating a welcoming, professional, respectful, and Christ-centered environment for students, parents, guardians, employees, vendors, visitors, prospective families, and other individuals conducting business with the school.
The Receptionist will manage the school’s front desk, answer and direct telephone calls, receive and respond to inquiries, provide accurate information, coordinate visitors, receive correspondence and deliveries, and support the efficient operation of the school’s administrative office.
The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, confidentiality, patience, organization, and a genuine commitment to serving students, families, and the broader CCS community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Front Desk and Reception Duties
• Serve as the primary receptionist and first point of contact for the school.
• Welcome parents, guardians, students, visitors, vendors, prospective families, and other guests in a courteous and professional manner.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area.
• Determine the purpose of visitors’ visits and direct them to the appropriate person, office, or department.
• Maintain visitor logs and follow the school’s visitor and security procedures.
• Ensure that unauthorized individuals do not gain access to restricted areas of the school.
• Assist students and visitors with general questions and direct them to appropriate resources.
• Answer incoming telephone calls promptly, professionally, and courteously.
• Identify the nature of callers’ inquiries and direct calls to the appropriate staff member or department.
• Take accurate messages when the appropriate person is unavailable and ensure timely delivery of those messages.
• Respond to routine telephone inquiries from parents, guardians, students, vendors, prospective students, and members of the public.
• Maintain professional telephone etiquette at all times.
• Make outgoing calls on behalf of the school as authorized.
• Monitor and respond appropriately to general school communication channels, including email and other approved communication platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working in a school or educational institution.
• Experience working with parents and children.
• Experience with school information systems or administrative databases.
• Familiarity with email, digital calendars, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other administrative tools.
• Understanding of Christian values and willingness to support the mission and values of a Christian school.
