CONTRACTOR VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Position: Research Medical Doctor

Qualifications: Licensed Medical Doctor with at least 3 years clinical experience.

Preference given for:

• Prior training in infectious disease or critical care medicine
• Prior experience caring for patients with Ebola virus disease, Lassa fever, or Marburg virus disease
• Prior training in Infection Prevention and Control
• Prior research training and experience
• Experience in clinical trials or research studies
• Strong understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and ethical Standards in medical research.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Location: Phebe Hospital, Suakoko, Bong County-Liberia

Work Hours: 40 hours per week

Contract Duration: 1 (One) Year with provision to extend

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide direct patient care in the VHF Treatment Unit, ensuring adherence to national and WHO-based standards.
• Rotate through the hospital’s medical wards to support patient care while incorporating research findings into clinical practice.
• Oversee infection prevention measures and monitor PPE supplies.
• Serve as the focal point for addressing occupational exposures.
• Ensure compliance with study protocols, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Report adverse events and assist with participant recruitment.
• Facilitate collaboration between clinical and research teams.
• Develop informed consent forms and prepare protocols for ethical review.
• Design study methodologies and contribute to data analysis and reporting.
• Provide critical medical input to advance research initiatives and improve patient outcomes.
