Job Title: Research Study Direct Observer
Department: Monitoring Evaluation Research and Learning.
Location: Rivercess County
Reporting Line: Manager, MERL
Position Type: Short-term Contract

The Role The Research Study Direct Observer will be responsible for all stages of project data collection. They will be a member of a collaborative research team working to better understand tools to evaluate community health worker quality of care. The Direct Observer will be based at a health facility in Rivercess. They will administer questionnaires, observe and record sick child diagnoses, and conduct Community Health Assistant coaching. What You’ll Do
• Perform study enrollment and participant informed consent procedures.
• Conduct questionnaires with community health workers and patient caregivers.
• Observe and record community health worker diagnoses of sick child participants.
• Ensure careful adherence to all study procedures and protocols, and protect child safety and participant well-being.
• Accurately enter all study data into a computer system.
• Conduct regular data quality assurance processes.
• Offer supportive and instructive sick child care quality improvement coaching to community health workers.
What You’ll Bring
• Must be a trained and certified nurse or physician assistant. • High clinical standards, and the ability to accurately recognize and triage sick child cases. • Attention to detail. • Basic computer literacy for data collection and data entry.
• Good judgment and ability to address any problems that arise during the study.
You’ll Impress Us If
• You have had previous training in child illness management (iCCM).
• You have previous experience in conducting research
• You have worked in Rivercess County, and/or know local language dialect
