JLN International has been appointed as one of the consultants to deliver the Community
Roads Pavement Project in Liberia. The Firm is urgently seeking to hire a number of
experienced Civil Engineers with roads experience to form part of the Team immediately.
This will be a 6 months contract with approved 6 months terms renewals not to exceed a
total of 12 months. The successful candidates will be key members of the JLN International
Team in supervising the Community Roads Construction Projects and reporting to the
Project Manager.

Report: Report directly to Project Manager

DETAIL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Competent at setting out Levelling
Liaising directly with subcontractors
Producing Risk assessments and Method statements
Programing works in detail when given stage programmes
Confident to supervise works and give briefings
Must be able to manage a small site without assistance
Must have a proven record of setting out on civil engineering projects including
earthworks, deep drainage, highways and infrastructure
Specific Role Responsibilities:
Responsible for the supervision and monitoring of construction works, particularly
relating to earthworks, drainages and pavement works, on the project
Execution of orders and instructions from the PM
Monitor and report daily on works being carried out, to the PM, ensuring that the Team
is accurately informed of all issues arising on site
Compliance with site QA/QC policy and documentation, in particular, reviewing method
statements, technical queries, non-conformance reports and record keeping
Compilation and preparation of as built records
Contribute to project team performance by communicating essential information,
coordinating actions, reviewing open issues/action items, sharing information in team
meetings while focused on project completion within timelines
Enhance company reputation by taking ownership over new and diverse client
requests/challenges, proactively exploring opportunities to add extra value to job
accomplishments
The ideal candidates will have:
Recognized University Degree in Civil Engineering
A Post Graduate qualification in Highway Engineering would be an added advantage
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the supervision of road construction / civil
engineering projects
Experience in the execution and supervision of roadworks, (particularly earthworks,
drainage and pavement works) and structures
A sound knowledge of the Tec Specification for MPW Road Works is essential
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), leadership, team working
skills and analytical skills are essential
The ability to lead and motivate, willingly take ownership of issues and seek team
participation to achieve best solution
Capabilities to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and
make recommendations
The capacity to work in compromising situations and be able to devise new approaches
to problems encountered
Excellent IT skills and familiar with relevant computer applications
