Job Purpose:
The Sale Agent is responsible for securing first aid trainings, sales of product from new and existing customers in order to meet monthly sales targets. This includes identifying potential customers, meeting customers, and negotiating sales commitments. The Sales Agent will work closely with the Workplace First Aid Business Manager to create and implement promotional activities for the Workplace First Aid business and contribute to business growth plans. The Sales Agent does not supervise staff or volunteers and has no budget responsibilities. The Sale Agents line manager is the Workplace First Aid Business Manager.
Lateral Relationships
The Sales Agent will build effective working relationships with First Aid staff and volunteers, and with other departments, particularly the finance and communications departments and with chapters and branches of the national society.
Qualification and Experience:
Education | - University degree
- Educated to A level standard (or equivalent) including Maths and English or relevant experience
- Relevant Marketing/sales training programme (desirable)

Experience | - Sales experience gained from face to face customer contact with companies or organization
- Proven track record of generating income from sales in a competitive price driven environment
- Presenting and negotiation skills

Knowledge and Skills | - Good knowledge of the sales process from initial proposals through to final negotiations

- IT literate, including Microsoft Office suite and experience of working with customer information

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties applicable to all:
- Work towards the achievement of the National Society’s mandate in the country through effective managerial and lateral relationships and teamwork
- Ensure understanding of roles, responsibilities, lateral relationships and accountabilities.
- Perform other work-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the line managers or the Secretary General.
Specific Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Meet agreed sales targets for new and existing business.
- Identify potential clients through internet research, following leads and door – to – door work.
- Maintain daily, weekly and monthly schedules for client visits in a geographically efficient manner and liaise with relevant colleagues to ensure transport is prepared.
- Deliver promotional presentations as required, e.g. to customers during sales visits, at trade fairs, and to large audiences.
- Conduct sales negotiations with potential and existing customers, taking the initiative to maintain client progress through the pipeline by converting initial enquiries into sales, commitments and long – term customers’ contracts where possible.
- Prepare sales proposals based on an understanding of customer training requirements and previous training provision.
- Compile and submit timely and accurate weekly sales reports identifying income gained, prospects contacted.
- Maintain accurate customer records and updates customer data information.
- Assisting the Business Manager to conduct market research.
- Report accurate information on competitor activity within your area.
- Work with other members of the Workplace First Aid business team to contribute to the development of sales and marketing campaigns and promotional materials.
- Work as part of the Workplace First Aid business team, undertaking any other relevant duties within the overall scope of this post may be required.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
