POSITION: Sales Manager

CLASSIFICATION: Mid-Level Management

REPORT TO: Commercial Manager

CONTRACT TYPE: Full-Time

DEPARTMENT: Administration

 

Position Summary

The Sales Manager will oversee and execute all sales initiatives to achieve volume and revenue growth. This role leads distributor relationships, manages key accounts, directs the sales team, and collaborates with marketing and production to align demand with supply. The Sales Manager plays a crucial role in shaping the brewery’s success and ensuring brand representation is consistent and effective in the market. In this position, you will develop strategic plans, coach team members, monitor performance, and maintain strong customer relationships to drive long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Execution

· Develop and implement comprehensive sales plans to meet or exceed short- and long-term revenue goals.

· Set sales targets for individual team members and monitor performance through KPIs

· Lead and manage the sales team to achieve monthly and annual revenue goals

· Develop and implement sales strategies, plans, and processes

· Monitor team performance using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) available tools

· Provide coaching, on-the-job training, and mentorship to sales representatives

· Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders

· Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement

· Collaborate with marketing, production, finance, and customer success teams

· Participate in pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and business development activities

· Prepare regular reports and present sales results to senior management

· Forecast and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

· Suggest products, services, or techniques to increase customer satisfaction.

· Handling and resolving customer complaints regarding a product or service

· Advising distributors and dealers on policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Distributor & Channel Management

· Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and key accounts.

· Negotiate pricing, contracts, incentives, and placement strategies with distributor partners.

· Conduct regular market visits and business reviews with distribution partners.

· Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers in both on-premise (bars, restaurants, etc) and off-premise (retail, supermarkets, liquor shops) accounts.

· Ensure product visibility, shelf space, and promotional execution.

Team Leadership

· Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing sales team, including territory representatives and brand ambassadors.

· Provide coaching, performance feedback, and ongoing development opportunities.

· Organize regular team meetings, sales training, and performance evaluations.

Events, Promotions & Brand Activation

· Coordinate with marketing to plan and execute brand activations, festivals, tastings, and trade shows.

· Represent the brewery at industry and consumer events to promote the brand and build community connections.

Analytics & Reporting

· Track and analyze sales data, market trends, and customer insights to inform decision-making.

· Prepare monthly and quarterly sales reports for senior management.

· Collaborate with production to forecast demand and align inventory with market needs.

· Completed additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.

· Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in sales/marketing within the beverage, alcohol, or related industry.

· Proven success managing distributor relationships and growing sales territories.

· Strong leadership skills and experience managing a team.

· Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

· Proficiency in any CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

· Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and events.
