Conex Energy Liberia is the market leader in Marketing and Distribution of Petroleum and allied products with 33 state of the art service stations across the 15 counties of Liberia.

Conex Energy Liberia, have a vacancy in its Sales & Marketing Department and seeks to recruit a competent, hardworking, and committed candidate as Sales & Marketing Manager. This is a senior management position that reports directly to the Managing Director & supervises five-line managers.

Duties & Responsibilities:

FINANCE

  • Builds up the marketing strategies and budget forecasts.
  • Elaborate the business strategy and adapt it into action plans for all channels to meet the objectives defined in the Budget Plan.
  • Manages customer credit control RETAIL
  • Supervises the entire company retail network of 33 service stations from sales profitability to HSSEQ commitments.
  • Implement, enforce, and ensure adherence to Conex network policies, procedures and best practices by dealers and station staff.
  • Supervise the development of shop sales and services strategies to adequately maximize turnover and improve profit.
  • In charge of the development of the network (lands, concepts, marketing policies, Company Owned Dealer Operated stations & dealership, legal)

GENERAL TRADE

  • Supervise the profitability of General Trade business.
  • Keep financial risk control with a regular and efficient policy of debt recovery.
  • Manage the relationship with all our GT customers
  • Promote Conex’s services such as technical, lube bay assistance or equipment rental.
  • Negotiate contract terms and product prices.
  • Develop lubricants sales through distributor channel and direct customers sales.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • HSSEQ – Invariant’s compliance in retail stations, safe installations in GT sites
  • Retail Business Development-develop a pipeline of station development for the foreseeable future; improve customer service and performance management.
  • Implement B2B customer commitments; grow general trade and market share to 40% within five years. Secure long-term mining solutions.
  • Lubricants: develop reseller market; improve technical services delivery for industrial customers including mining
  • HR – develop the skills and competences of Marketing Team; identify and promote.
  • Brand Image – Keep CONEX Top of Mind, implement tools to enhance Conex’s Image
  • Responsible for maintenance of the company’s approved supplier list.

  • Brand Awareness and Reputation Management
  • Contract Signing Velocity

 

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • A minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering, Accounting or Business Management or equivalent).
  • Must have oil company experience (8 yrs. Minimum); 4-5 years, minimum in retail, general oversight in B2B, and understand downstream sector.
  • Experience in sales and technical management of specialty products especially lubricants
  • Must have a high-level integrity and discipline.
  • Team management experience at least 3 years.
  • Strong leadership, risk Management and capacity to analyses and synthesis rapidly.
  • Financial background with focus and skills in NPV, IRR, ROACE, P&L management and cash flow.
  • Must be self-motivated, innovative, imaginative, proactive, and fluent in English.
