Security Site Manager (SSM)
We are seeking a results-driven Security Site Manager to join our growing Company. In this position, the post holder will be assigned at the SEGAL AML Yekepa Field Office located at the AML Yekepa Concession and serves as the point of contact between SEGAL and ArcelorMittal Liberia Limited (AML) and expected to supervise the work functions of the SEGAL Yekepa staff, supervisors, commanders, and the guard force in general under the AML Project. The incumbent will liaise between employees and Central/Top Management of SEGAL. The SSM must possess strong organizational and communication skills and work proficiently both individually and in teams. The goal is to create and preserve an environment where employees, visitors and property of AML are safe and well-protected.
Job Summary
The Security and Site Manager (SSM) based at the AML/SEGAL Yekepa Concession is the most senior personnel next to the SEGAL/AML Project Manager. The SSM is required to have an on-site presence and is tasked to work closely with the AML Security Department, being responsible for incident reporting including compilation and submission of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports. The post holder is the primary focus for Key Performance Indicator (KPI) at the Concession, coordinating all activities thereof. The SSM’s primary responsibilities are listed below. However, from time to time, the Security Site Manager may be called upon for special projects.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Assists with hiring and training guard personnel, staff and conducts meaningful and needful field inspections of guards with respect to corporate dress code, and ensure that muster exercises are observed meticulously
- Be involved with the daily workflow and schedules of commanders, supervisors and staff personnel
- Assists with conducting performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
- Makes recommendations for discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The SSM primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Developing work schedules, allocating tasks, and monitoring personnel performance.
- Enforce all workplace policies and procedures
- Coordinate training and professional development activities for employees
- Conduct staff performance reviews
- Review all project contracts before submitting to Management
- Answer inquiries from prospective clients, and assist with scouting new clients
- Mediate on-site conflicts
- Prepare and submits bi-monthly progress reports
- Planning and implementing comprehensive security strategies
- Gathering security intelligence and implementing preventative measures
- Coordinating responses to emergencies and alarms, as well as compiling incident reports
- Keeping abreast of new technologies and advancements in security services
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and security industry regulations
- Manages the development and implementation of access and perimeter control operational procedures, conveying and verifying security requirements.
- Manages the loss protection and detection services and enforces administrative policies and procedures
- Works with AML Security Department to develop and implement corrective actions to upgrade and enhance the security of the site or when alterations or additions to the site are required
- Manages the development and enhancements of safety and security inspection procedures to prevent safety and security hazards, and ensures the proper procedures are followed
- Monitors performance and assignments of uniformed security personnel and makes occasional inspections to ensure proper equipment, training and fulfillment of duties in compliance with SEGAL policies
- Monitors and directs emergency response operational plans and related activities as required.
- Coordinates physical security administrative and operational matters with management, local law enforcement, first responders, and client/customers to ensure continuity of operations.
- Manages the safety and security activities and provides leadership direction to on site management, employees, and contingent workforce population.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- State-prescribed security training, licensing, and registration

Education and Experience:
- At least two years’ experience in a similar role.
- Extensive experience in preventing illegal activity and performing access control
- In-depth knowledge of security procedures and surveillance equipment
- Knowledge of security industry regulations
- Advanced ability to coordinate responses to security breaches and threats
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus professional certification in study relevant to this position
- 5-6 years progressive experience in security forces, military police, or with a major law enforcement and public or private sector organizations.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Prerequisite to Apply:
