Main Duties & Responsibilities:
The IT Technician must be a professional with extensive experience in project management, implementation of technical and operational plans and strategies in a financial institution/setting. He/she will lead an IT team, standardize network computer configuration and provide technical support task(s) for sensitive financial systems.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meet service level agreement targets in line with support unit
- Monitor event logs for systems, equipment rooms, network switches and other room environment monitoring devices
- Must have the ability to interpret data, user problems and needs, identify their source, and determine possible solutions; investigate, recommend and install new applications
- Analyze user project proposals to include identifying potential problem areas and recommend optimum approaches for project path.
- Provide effective IT software support to end users
- Ensure applications are implemented according to established standards for IT application software and network connectivity on LAN/WANs
- Participate in the development of training materials and assist in conducting training and workshops
- Establish staff development opportunities for support staff
- Perform testing and debugging operations; prepare manuals and user guide for all applications
- Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.
- Assist personnel of other departments as a computer resource.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Proficient knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Technical Database Experience – Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL, MS ACCESS, LINUX, SUN Microsystems
- Technical Certifications: MCDBA, MCSA, MCSE, Oracle Certified Professional, Sybase Certified Professional, CCNA, CCNP, OS System Administration
- Basic knowledge of banking applications and systems
- Must possess STRONG WRITTEN, INTERPERSONAL and VERBAL COMMUNICATIONS skills
- Must have no criminal record.
