SCOPE:
Internews Network is implementing a SIDA-funded Media Project titled “Improving citizens’ access to public information through community radio content syndication in Liberia” (Radio Content Syndication in Liberia). It aims to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of a network of Liberian community radios in serving as a conduit for citizen voices and government response.
The Senior Radio Producer will lead radio production training and content development along with ALICOR and support community radio stations (CRSs) in the content syndication network. The successful candidate will also work as a member of the technical team in the media and information ecosystems development activities of Internews and partners, such as, but not limited to, information ecosystems assessment, training, content production/production support, and mentoring activities for ALICOR.
The Senior Radio Producer report to the Project Director.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead the design and development of various radio production materials for the content syndication project
• Design and conduct training, training of trainers, and mentoring programs for ALICOR producers and community radio stations producers in radio production
• Train and mentor ALICOR staff to manage and operate the studio
• Research and generate ideas for programs pitching for production
• Develop content/scripts, bulletins, and links sourcing potential
• Produce pre-production briefings for presenters, reporters, technical staff and other contributors
• Manage the logistics of getting people, resources, and equipment together at the right time
• Undertake editing, interviewing and reporting duties as necessary
• Contribute to, and making use of, an archive of audio resources
• Use technology, such as Cool Edit Pro, Pro Tools and Adobe Audition, for editing and production purposes
• Research and develop new ideas for projects and programs
• Write blogs and material for the program website
• Provide support and ideas on sharing of content between community radio stations
• Promote women’s empowerment in radio media outlets.
• Ensure quality assurance, reporting and M&E compliance in close coordination with M&E team
• Produce story outputs and success stories for the training and mentoring activities
• Ensure timely reporting of activities and effective collaboration with relevant Internews staffs
• Build and maintain relationships with local media development organizations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• A bachelor’s degree in journalism, mass communications, or a related field. Post-graduate qualification will be an advantage.
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience managing media/journalism capacity building and development
• Minimum of 8-10 years of radio production skills and training experience
• Experience in radio production studio management at a senior level is a plus
• Experience training and mentoring journalists as well as in developing training curriculum
• Experience in providing support to women’s journalism training
• Knowledge and experience of radio management
• In-dept knowledge and understanding of multimedia (including Facebook, You tube, Instagram, twitter, video and audio editing, etc) Experience of conducting media training need assessment
• Good knowledge of designing basic, middle level and specialized journalism

• Has experience in developing targeted journalism contents
